Since we need one.... The Club Chat Thread!!!

These are Fox 2.0x14, 7/8" shaft remote reservoirs. The biggest thing is getting them valved correctly and choosing the right springs. I got these from AccutunedOffroad, so they came valved and with springs. I just had to provide vehicle specs and vehicle weight at the front axle. Just get...

Wits End Order Issues / Joey Romero

Excuse my ignorance on this subject, but this is a good thing right? All evidence heard in one trial and possibly some restitution? Or is that a pipe dream at this point?

    Dream FZJ 80 Axle Build

The only advantage is the number of parts that I have sitting in my garage already lol. All I'd need is the housing, studs for the diff and new 80 balls. But again, I think at that point, it'll go in another build. Unless I can convince my wife she wants an 8" high pinion with my old Longfields...

    Dream FZJ 80 Axle Build

Exactly this. I have all of these and catch myself imagining it's going to be time for a RuffStuff front 9.5 housing with 80 balls to swap in, but really at that point, the 80 is no longer the chassis and I'd be better off building a stretched FJ40 or something else dedicated for crawling

    Rubithon

I think we scared them all. Then again, most of the personalities I've come accross up there aren't huge talkers nor posters. Regardless, it'll be a good time for everyone

Since we need one.... The Club Chat Thread!!!

I've trimmed a lot. If it needs more, I'll trim some more. It's only metal:rofl: But yes, it definitely feels more numb up front, and the hydro assist exagerates that a bit. I'll get used to it eventually

Mojave Road 1st week of April - Condition insights?

Afton Canyon is still one of my favorite places in all of the desert. Can't wait to see more!

    TLCA 2024 Rubithon Wagon Run

I'd rather stay at DD than the 4 Seasons every day of the week

80 series NOoB winch (and bumper) questions

I like having the same ends that they use on the winch, so ring terminals would be great!

80 series NOoB winch (and bumper) questions

Even with no load whatsoever, that winch is probably going to pull somewhere in the neighborhood of 75 amps. I'd go with much thicker wire and connect it as the manual says even just to test it

    TLCA 2024 Rubithon Wagon Run

With some good bacon and coffee. I could go for that. I just don't want to hike all the way to Dirty Dozen for breakfast, so he'll have to stay near us

    Rubithon

Thinking about karaoke on the Rubicon reminds me of the Beastie Boys version of Bennie and the Jets. I'd pay a couple bucks to sit and listen to people do that

New Dobinsons 31" Long Front and Rear 2.6" IMS Shocks for 80 Series

I may have to make a change to these in the rear of my Cruiser later this year. Been looking for something with more dampening than the twin tube but with some real travel

    If you could choose….

Were a manual in the cards, I'd go with the NV4500 as well. It's pretty stout and again, parts are cheap and very available

    80 series lift question

This also depends on the kind of wheeling you're doing. I've killed bushings each year for the last 3 years. One set of OMEs, one set of OEMs and one set of Dobinsons. But it took LOTS of hard flexing to do it and it's not hard to change them.

    If you could choose….

This is about what is on my plate for my next project. 4.3 Vortec with an auto. Yes, I know the 4l60 isn't ideal, but parts for it are cheap and it won't be worked all that hard. Then an adapter to a 23 spline Toyota transfer case with 4.7 gears in it. Then 3 link the front with coilovers and...

Builds 86 Xtra Cab Build (4Wheelunderground 3 link front, 4 link rear and 3.4 swap)

Are you going to give it a little skim coat also before paint? If so, after you tap most of those out a bit by hand and prime and skim it, they're going to be very minor on a crawler build like this.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

Got the coilovers in now for the 3 link.Another weekend to align and do some more trimming, then I can wheel it again. This has been a long journey and I can already tell I’m going to have to relearn how to drive it
