Yes the truck is still available and all PM's have been answered. My apologies for the delay in a timely response.....unforeseen family matters that required some immediate attention kept me from being on top of the discussion here.
I will be adding some additional photos of the interior and...
1978 FJ40 - The Legend SOLD SOLD SOLD
This is a very well maintained 1978 Toyota Landcruiser with lots of upgrades while maintaining an "original" look and feel. The intent was to present the truck as a period expedition vehicle and it's well on it's way to becoming such. I hate to sell...
Front and rear bumper replacements
Replaced my front bumper with HFS and roller fairlead. Pretty easy install. PO had welded a crappy homemade bumper to the bumper etensions so I had to find replacements. Not as easy to find decent bumper extensions as I thought it would be!
Also replaced...

Really enjoy the RTT, and so does my wife!
I know it's tough to see, but there is enough room in the Annex room to put a cot on either side of the ladder and still walk around it to access the back of the 40. We actually have...
Wow!!! Great responses Gents! I was out of town for 2 days and hadn't had a chance to check the thread. After reading so many posts and build threads I think that this guy is going to go with the 1HD-T. One caveat..... I do have an opportunity that just popped up yesterday for a full 12HT...
I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on pulling apart my 78 FJ40 and doing a complete refresh, frame, body etc. I'm anticipating it taking a total of 8 months from start to finish. ( I work in the Body Shop industry)
I've always been a big fan of the Toyota Diesels and am leaning strongly...
If you go to their website they ship both in the US and out of country.
ODYSSEY Batteries - Marine
Just click on the online store. That's the first question they ask you.
I settled on 2 Odyssey batteries for my FJ40. After numerous yellow tops that wouldn't hold a charge or last more than 14-16 months I ditched them.
ODYSSEY Batteries - 34M-PC1500ST-M
Had mine for a year now with no problems whatsoever.
I still remember when I got mine!! A year later and I'm still excited :)
Hope you enjoy the rack and the tent. Both Greg and Bobby are great to work with and their equipment is top notch. Customer service is above and beyond in every respect. Give us some pics once you've got everything...
I think the gasket you're looking for comes in the Remflex kit, at least it did in my kit for my "40. If I remember correctly, it had the exhaust manifold, 2 gaskets for the mating of the exhaust to the intake, 2 or 3 egr port type gaskets.
I've done both the Remflex and the Felpro. Both failed and I ended up going back to a new OEM gasket with the metal fire rings in it. I tried with the Remflex, even took it to Stan's Headers in Auburn thinking I was the problem. After the second Remflex, drove the mile up Auburn Way and went...
