Help! Need Alternator St George UT

NOBODY has an alternator. Not even in Vegas. So I dropped the battery off at Napa. They’re going to get a good charge on it, and the hope is a weak alternator with a strong battery will get me home tomorrow 🤞🏼

Well yes. You are an observant one. I also own an 80. A lot of my friends who own 80s also own other series, and are connected to the greater cruiser community… I’m a little desperate here and trying to cover all my bases…

Help! Need Alternator St George UT

My alternator is slowly dying on my 1987 FJ60. It will charge a little unless there is a large load like headlights on. Worried it won’t get me home tomorrow, 5 hours north. No parts houses have them. Waiting for the parts houses in Vegas to open up. If I have to make the 2-hour trip I guess...

...Nevermind. The local one I found was off a 93. (Apparently 95-97 flares are different than previous years?) So still in need of a flare!!!

Never know what you’re gonna get in that stretch. Giant holes, or monster boulders. And conquered with a leaky front ARB! Nicely done.

    Haha, whose the owner?

And after years of trail driving, and dozens of more "learning experiences" (like all the many more times I got stuck the mud, in the snow, smashing and breaking stuff in the rocks, almost rolling, accidentally driving off a small cliff once. etc... etc...) you're confident, you know what to do...

    Haha, whose the owner?

I agree, and it's becoming more and more of a problem. Last year when I was way up in the Wind Rivers on an old logging trail, I came across some old DB on a razor who had the nerve to tell me, "You don't belong on this trail". I had a few words in rebuttal... But I think @mingles and...

Thoughtful and kind words. I appreciate you guys. It's hard to witness another's suffering, but it's all part of it... I'm certain things will turn out as they should. "We don't cure the human condition. We experience it" - James Hollis

I made a u-turn after passing the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park sign. We have an annual park pass. Almost left because of $18 bucks for the stupid flag they make you wear. Best 18-bucks I've spent in a while... It was super fun!!!

Where Has Your 80 Taken You?: 80 Series Camping/Overland/Adventure Thread

Took a long weekend and drove 11-hours south to visit my father who is sick in the ICU in Chandler, AZ. I should grow up and be an adult and buy a car that gets decent gas mileage. Anyway, to justify the exorbitant expense of driving the thirsty 80 down, we took some time and explored a bit...
