    Anyone familiar with this '92?

I think thats the '92 I traded in about a month ago. It is clean but I would avoid it like the plague. It has a terrible vibration at around 65 mph, it leaks oil, the air wasn't working when I got rid of it. I had the rear main and valve cover seals replaced and the oil still leaks. I was...

Low Oil Indicator On Older 80's

Hey all. I did a search without success. I was wondering if there was a low oil indicator on a '91-'92 80? Thanks for any help you can give.

    Front Drivers Rocker Drain Hole

I found it, right behind the heat shield. Very difficult to get any cleaning tool into. I swear these trucks aren't very user friendly. Any vehicle that you have to remove more than 5 parts to change a headlight isn't very well thought out, if you ask me. Noone did so it's just my two cents...

    Front Drivers Rocker Drain Hole

I removed the rubber plug, I'm having trouble finding the drain slot. A previous post recommended not leaving out the plug, and I don't feel like prying it out every time water hits the truck.

    Front Drivers Rocker Drain Hole

I removed the rubber plug from the rocker panel to remove the water that had accumulated in the drivers side. I believe I was able to find the drain hole in the pinch weld area on the passenger side but on the drivers side the cat shield is in that area. Is the hole behind the shield? Any help...

    Power Steering Lines?

Are the 2 rusted out metal tubes in front of my rad support dripping a brown fluid my power steering supply and return lines? How hard are the to replace? I'm a decent weekend wrencher.

    Very Sluggish

Thanks for the replies so far. The truck runs fine no strange noises. I did the tune up about 1000 miles ago, the air cleaner is like brand new. It seems to hesitate a little when first running it but not to bad. Is the fuel filter easy to replace? Any other cheap parts I could replace that may...

    Very Sluggish

Hello all. I was driving to work this morning and my truck was very sluggish. I couldn't get the thing to go over 71 MPH. I was thinking maybe the fuel filter? Any ideas? I would have done a search but I don't even know what to search for. One more thing, I've had the throttle body cleaned, and...

    Desierable years

I'd recommend the '92 with no lockers and the super slow 3FE. How can you go wrong? Oh yeah, one other thing make sure the PO was a POS, that help's.

2" lift with OME coils + Bilstein shocks?

"Monroe" oops, I mean OME Are OME's the Monroes? Would they be the GAS MAGNUMS by chance? I'm getting shock soon and was considering these. I know people say Monroe sucks but a lot of people also like or at least don't mind them.

    Side Cover Leaking Oil?

Guess what my truck is still leaking oil. I had the rear main and oil pan gasket replaced and it still leaks now the shop is telling me it's coming from the SIDE COVER. Where is this and what is he talking about? I'm sick of this guy blaming everything but what he fixed. I'm taking it into...

    Who Does Oil Analysis?

I'm having my car repaired for an oil leak. The shop "fixed" it about a week ago and it still leaked, I took it back and they're trying to get it right. I'm worried that they may just dump some seal sweller of something like that in it. I want to have the oil changed after I pick it up and have...

Low Oil And Low Oil Light

I've done what a I should have done in the first place in regards to the idiot lights. I see no mention of a low oil indicator in the owners manual, only the oil pressure gauge which wont tell you the oil level. It basically says to check the dip stick if you want to know the oil level.

Low Oil And Low Oil Light

Well, I had the oil pan gasket and the rear main replaced, it's still leaking. I'm bringing the truck back this week so they can do the job right. I have a feeling they didn't put enough oil in it in the first place. I think I chose the wrong garage. Thank's for the replies so far by the way.

Low Oil And Low Oil Light

Hey all. I did a dumb thing, I didn't check the oil for a while and when I did I was @ 2 1/2 quarts low. Is this a huge issue. It's a '92 L/c with 103,000 miles. I haven't heard any ticking or anything and I always watch the oil pressure, it was fine. I was also wondering if the 1992...

    Oil Leaking From Bolts?

Are there any oter seals I should replace while the engine and trans are seperated for the rear main job.

    Oil Leaking From Bolts?

Well I think I'm going to let my local mechanic fix the leak. He quoted me a price of $648 for the rear main and just over $200 for the oil pan. That seems fair to me. He had the truck yesterday and is fairly certain it's the rear main. It's leaking about a quart a week right now. He added a...
