Is it true that not ALL 4Runner Trail models have KDSS?
What about 2010+ 4Runner Limiteds?
If it's not always installed on Trail and/or Limted, how common is it?
I tried airing down to 20psi to get unstuck and sneak up the side of the road where it wasn't glare ice but I still wasn't able to get enough traction. I don't have on-board-air so I didn't want to risk losing a bead. My left front was down the embankment already, and there wasn't much weight on...
Does anybody know if chains will fit on a 4th Gen with 255/75R17s? I had a scary adventure on ice this weekend which could have easily totaled my rig, not to mention possible serious injury or death for me. I think chains should be onboard for next winter. I'm currently running stock size (worn...
Turns out I hadn't loosened one of the top bolts enough and it was keeping that connector attached. Normally it would stay clipped into a bracket, that's what the 4 tabs were for. It's twin was right next to it, properly positioned, but I just didn't realize it until I went back.
I'm trying to get the combination meter (speedo, etc) out of my 2003 Limited. I have it all mechanically disconnected, but I can't figure out how to release the big white electrical connector on the back. The wires are really short so it's hard to see. There appears to be FOUR tabs that I have...
My 120 has 123k miles or so. It has pretty bad slop in the driveline. Lubing the slip joints made it go away for a week or so, but now it's back and worse.
Anybody know a good permanent fix? Perhaps use a heavy grease in the slip joints that won't come out as easy? Or replace the driveshafts...
Found it on the pic of a mirror on eBay. It's on the info sticker on the passenger door frame. When viewing the sticker as if it was upright, it's in the lower left corner listed as C/TR:
I have a 2003 Limited V8. I have 17" wheels but the Limited this year didn't come with the bigger rotors. It's time to replace the rotors. It also has a sticking caliper, though I don't know yet if it will need to be replaced, or just freed up.
Is it worth upgrading to the larger rotors? I know...
I'm looking for a tool kit with a case that's only metric to carry in my 120. Anybody know of such a thing? I figure why take up space with SAE tools I won't use.
If not, I'll probably buy the individual tools and put them in one of those roll-up organizers so they don't rattle.
Thanks
Does ATRAC only work in low range? It works with the center diff locked, unlike regular traction control that turns off when the center diff is locked, right?
Thanks
I did some more hot laps in my driveway. I think it's fine. I just recently got the vehicle so part of my perception of change could be that I'm getting more used to it. This thing is soooo much different than my 2nd Gen! What an awesome machine.
Is the buzzer for traction control and the...
I removed the remote starter from my 2003 4Runner Limited V8 today. It was located under the dash to the left of the steering column. I just unplugged all the wires from it and removed the module. Now the VSC seems less sensitive, I can throw it sideways on a swooping dirt corner of my driveway...
I'm starting to tinker and catch up on the maintenance for my 2003 4Runner Limited V8.
I'll be getting a set of FSMs soon. I know they're available online but I'd rather have them in print and not hassle with printing and binding.
My previous Toyotas were pre-OBDII so I just pulled the...
