OK, I have read through most of these troll threads but wanted to double check. 1980 FJ40. Two wires from the trollhole dizzy one red, one black short one. I presume the black is ground????

I am not sure I am calling this thing right, but basically I need the whole piece that connects the steering gear box arm to the long arm running forward. The little one inch or so barrel with the big screwdriver set screw that clamps on to the ball of the steering arm. See pic.

Anyway 1980 2F Engine Oil Pan needed in very good shape - verified to not leak. I think mid 70s to 80s are all the same.

Need an oil pan for a 2F 1980 FJ40. I think they are the same for all 2F engines mid seventies to early 80s. Will pay very fairly for a good one that is verified to not leak (prefer you check with solvent) - they are sneaky leakers under the skid plate.

If you put a flat top piston in a 2F with a previous domed piston and open chambered head, can you mill the head sufficiently to make up for the loss in compression ratio?
What went here? I am looking at the 3 bolt holes (two of them busted) right above the front soft plug. Power steering pump bracket or smog or?????
1980 FJ40 (May) and as far as I know the original engine.
Restoring a cruiser and taking the engine out. It looks like it might be easiest to just take the whole thing at once with the trans and transfer case. Or is it better to take it at the bell housing? Any past experience recommendations?

Currently desmogging my FJ - read bunch of threads, looked at diagrams, but still don't exactly get it.
My basic question is this. Two vacuum lines go from the distributor (one larger vac, one smaller vac) for the advance mechanism. So which vacuum ports on the carb should these be hooked...
I have a 1979 FJ40. If you remove the smog/air pump, how do you set up to keep the fan belt turning. The smog pump is essentially the idler in the system. Do you need to get an aftermarket idler? Or????
