Seems you're into looking the part rather than being the part. The mod-aholic guys in the P-car and M forum amuse me too, whenever we're at the track a different aftermarket part overheats or fails. I've seen similar on the trails, only go a couple of times a year and while extra clearance can...
I 100% endorse the current gen ML63 with performance pkg. My neighbor has one and adores it. I've driven it once and it's a great SUV. Also consider the X5M (I've had EXCELLENT reliability with all my BMW M cars) and Cayenne Turbo S. All three redefine the laws of physics re acceleration...
35,000, with about 1,000 of those on the trails. Only complaint is the squeaky brakes, already changed the pads once and seem they need it again. Other than that she's been flawless and would only change if they introduced a diesel LC.
It's more like a fullblown mini-fridge than a coolbox since it gets drinks so cold. I thought it would be crap like the one in my 04 Range Rover from back in the day, but nope, the LC200 one is great.
Now, if only Toyota would allow us to lock the doors when leaving the car running it'd be...
Don;t sweat it. I only got about 4.5 grand off my LC which is by far the smallest percentage I've had off a new car. My usual with other makers is at least 10% and I've gone as high as 27% with a superduty (though that was a once in a lifetime).
OP- that's a really good deal.
Have your other 63 posts been about water shortage and the transmission of AIDS? That asinine meme is all that would be posted if everyone were as original as you. ;)
On topic, agreed re the nav lag. Worst is when the screen goes from rearview camera to the warning page whole you're reversing...
Just a quick correction, the 4.5TTD in the 200 does not return 30mpg. Official figure (which is hard to match) says 29mpg, but that is for an Imperial gallon. In US terms it returns about 25mpg (claimed).
Now, this is still a lot better than 15 and I'd be first in line if they brought that...
No, the size of the rim will have not affect clearance provided you stay with the same diameter/height tire. That said, if you buy the LC then I wouldn't change out the 18s as they are rarer than the 17" TRD and offer plenty of sidewall for off roading. But do add some all terrain tires;)
Thanks for the update on this. Good to know a dealership well versed in the 200s. So I assume they have a few LCs that some in and the SST 00002-12030-01 + adapter tool spoken of above?
Wow, that is some red dirt in the last pic. Great pics and update. Had been checking in on this site every few days to see when you next posted so thanks for doing so again.
The 2008-2012 Land Cruisers have Active Headrests and Pre-tensioning seatbelts too. To be honest, I find the latter to be a touch intrusive. Having the option of Accident Radar for 2013 is certainly no bad thing, esp if it can be turned on/off.
Active safety on an LC is always going to be...
I've been looking for this for a while now.
Great to see this rating, I was pretty sure the LC200 had amazing passive safety and structural integrity but it's great to see it proved so.
Offset test is by far the toughest and has done significant damage to the reputations of many solid new...
What an amazing report, 4x4 tripping. Please keep us updated, it is amazing to see and hear about your trip.
By the way, your english is impressive, better than many native speakers. Please stay safe.
Interesting videos Alwaysme and glad all the LC owners were safe given they were not at fault in any of these. Very impressive structural response to huge crashes, it's certainly good to see more proof the 200 is overbuilt in all areas.
Great post, Surfy.
And also kudos for recognizing 084runnerltd is the latest incarnation of the pathetic, bicycle riding, mother's basement dwelling pagemaster.
Two pretty obvious differences why the Tundra achieves slightly better mileage than the LC200, all else being equal:
1. The LC200 weighs 500lbs more.
2. The LC200 is full time 4WD, the Tundra is selectable so often running in RWD.
Also, and I may be wrong, but I believe the Tundra w/5.7 may...
I have driven an LX570, I did like it but I still wouldn't laud the handling as being up to par with the competition. That said, I would have liked the option of it (though reliability down the line worries me) and DEFINITELY would have wanted the 4.5TTD you have. A 381bhp V8 is nice but...
