Another blessing in disguise, you're about to become more acquainted with these trucks than most.
Don't look at this as a let down. Just a minor setback to a better truck in the end.
Don't judge too hard. It is a quick, 2 mile jog to the lake. Low speeds and back roads gets us there and back without issue. I'm waiting to order the proper roof rack for said belly straps.
Plans came from Bear Mountain Boats: Wooden Canoe, Kayak and Small Boat Kits and Plans
Turned out nice...
PSA - I hate to hate but this Used 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 4X4 for Sale in Pelham AL 35124 Exclusive Auto Wholesale could've been so much more. Shame to have invested so much work resulting in a less than original capabilities.
I'm curious the asking price...
There's a few threads about them if you search. I've seen some favorable reviews and some not so favorable.
I personally own one of their dual swing rear bumpers and really like it. It's thoughtfully designed, constructed well enough, and fits nicely. I'm happy with it.
I can solve your problem...
I buy the one you have in ATL (I'll make the drive to pick it up) and you buy the one in SLC.
??
Consider the racks shipped. ;)
Personally, i like to see the things go for crazy money. I don't view this Land Cruiser any different than any other collectible vehicle. Refer to any Porsche 911...
I currently own a '95 that can be sold for the same price i purchased 16 years ago. Thats after I've added 120k miles. And I pat...
agreed. But if you want to set it and forget it; add a tie at the bow. triangulate it with both tow points under the front bumper.
Then you confidently say, 'that SOB aint going anywhere'.
This is interesting. I saw that wheel ad and wanted to entertain the idea of buying them. At first glance I liked them a lot.
Coming from BHM, AL I didn't think the trip was worth it.
After seeing them on your cruiser, I'm not so sure I like them. Guess I'm in the boat as you, in terms of...
Anyone interested in 4 BFG Mud Terrains? In the 285/75/16 flavor. I'd estimate 45% tread life left. In decent shape. No patches.
They've become a bit too noisy for my liking on the road, so I'm going back to all terrains.
$300 for all four. Pick up in the BHM area.
I'd be interested in what you'd be willing to part with. I'm in Birmingham, AL and able to pick up items.
Currently looking for sliders, roof rack, bumpers, etc...
This is a bit refreshing to see.
I've done my front seats, center console, and door arm rest in his taupe (all leather) and it turned out fantastic.
Now wanting to do the second row seats.
Damn Charles! Never saw this coming!
Folks, this Land Cruiser is top notch. Doesn’t get much better than this. And yes, super nice guy.
If I were in the market for another 80, I’d seriously consider this rig.
I bought a leather kit from Frank. Everything went smooth. Yes, it took awhile to be delivered but the time frame was discussed and understood. However, this was many years ago. I’m hoping he’s still a standup guy. ...because I’m needing to order the second row seats.
I realize this isn't really a tech thread but...
Took my kids to the local hobby store. While they were destroying one half of the store, I walked over to the opposite side.
Screamed like a little girl when I found this.
Damn thing was $40. Just proves there's nothing cheap when it comes to...
