I found an all-original, unmolested, rusty, factory A/C 1974 FJ40, but I need to buy this without impacting the family budget (:princess: says sell some of my other toys for it).
Here's what I have to fund this project:
1) Millermatic 211 Mig Welder with autoset. Very low hours. Great...
Hey guys,
I am actively looking for a 40 series project. By project I mean a cheap cruiser that most everyone else would take a pass on (<$1000). I don't even need the engine or tranny in it. The only thing I am concerned with is that the chassis is rot free. I am not afraid of body panel rust...
My 1993 Land Cruiser gasser is getting tired and it is almost time for a heart/lung transplant. I've thought about rebuilding the gas motor, but I am a diesel geek at heart. So here goes. My wife has given me the go as long as I keep the swap at $5000.
I found an Isuzu NPR at a local junk yard...
I thought you guys might get a kick out of this. There is a local shop near Rundberg/I35 that saved me LOTS of $$$ yesterday.

I'm not affiliated BTW.
I thought I'd share this with you guys. My starter crapped out out this morning after acting up for the last month or so. I read all of the rebuild threads here on "Mud," but didn't like the idea of being ripped-off by the local stealership. Since this is my DD, I had to make a repair time now...

I got this out of curiosity and now that I've read it, its up for grabs.

I've been wanting to get a dual battery system going for quite a while now and I have been slowly acquiring parts over the last few months. Well, I'm finally done.
My criteria for a dual battery system was:
1) Low cost
2) Simple operation
3) Simple installation
4) Safe isolation of house loads...
I am looking for front mud flaps for a FZJ80 with fender flares (see pic) shipped to Austin, TX. Let me know what you have. Paypal standing by.
Thanks, Ed

Here's a before and after shot.
Well here she is. My 1964 M416 is a former Travis County Fire Department trailer. I think that it spent most of its life parked behind a fire station and that it saw very little use.
The trailer is missing its lunette casting...
I found a 416 in great shape but it needs a lunette casting, lunette and drop leg. Does anyone out there have one laying around??
Thanks, Ed
The casting looks like this ... (picture shamelessly borrowed from another Mudder)
I know this has been asked before, but I want to know positively whether I can mate a 1HZ to my A442F transmission in my FZJ80. What items would I need to make this work as painlessly as possible?
Thanks in advance,
Ed
I just got some new tires. Bridgestone Dueler A/T 2 in 285/75r16.
First impression: they're quiet and grip well on pavement.
A set of four was $981 out the door from Firestone. I shopped around quite a bit and these seemed the best deal for the $. My rig is set up for minor wheeling and back...
I have a tan disco cup holder for sale. It is in excellent condition and has no scratches, stains or other marks - it really looks new. Screws included. $45 shipped CONUS.
Thanks,
