35 years and I finally had a gauge fail!

My Temp gauge quit on me today. All the others work fine. I am guessing it's the sending unit, but I don't know were on the engine that part is. I have a Haynes Manual and for the life of me I cannot find it in the book either! If it were the fuse the other gauges would be dead too, they...

stock R&P, what is maximum functional Tire size

Just read that pile of data in the tire sizes with the the lift used. That was a ton of info from across the country ( and out of the country too) While reading this I wandered how many guys swap R&P as well to keep the torque needed off road? And at what point did you notice that the tires...

I also have manual steering which may be swapped in the next 10 months to a year. My cruiser already does about everything I would like it to do for my needs, Just hate seeing...

Aussie Locker for daily driver on snow and icy roads

So what do you think? I had a 76 CJ5 with a detroit locker in the rear. An awesome traction adding device, but left me freaked out a few times at highway speed with random locking. I had a 93 toyota pickup with a Tru trac front and rear. It was only okay at best off road. Still spun a tire...

    Question on warm start struggle.

When it's freezing cold I pull the choke, pump the gas twice and turn the key, it cranks a couple times and fires right up. When it's hot after running it, I just leave the choke in, turn the key and it fires right up. When its been hot from running and sits of 30-60 min, that thing...

Is there a front and rear of a drive shaft?

Does it really matter which end is which? I've noticed this on different makes and models and seen the spline end on the axle side or on the transfer case side? Does it really matter or is it make and model Specific?

    Rear view mirror vibration?

The mirror vibrates quite a bit blurring out, especially noticeable at night with the car behind mine's headlights. All I need to do it lightly touch it with my finger tip and it's rock steady. Is there a tightening adjustment on these? It's a stock original 1977 mirror.

finally got all my bits back from Powdercoating

Yeah, I was anxious and excited to get this all back together, it's fully functional now and needs nothing else. Although I do need work on the dash lights and there is no radio yet. I worked with a buddy to fabricate the winch mount, bull bar, and rock rails. He is a metal fabricator for a...

What is the best off road light set for about 500 bucks. I will wire direct with 10 gage wire, and a relay. So the control and power is not an issue. Just the absolute baddest brightest off road light you can get for about 500 bucks or so. PIAA makes an Extreme white, there are also HID...

    Body alignment on frame

I have the bull bar and winch mount built and test fit. However with it mounted to the frame my body seems higher on the left the the right side. It's actually about an inch or so off. Not at all noticeable without the bull bar that goes up over the lights, but with it on the frame the bezel is...
