    Dual battery setup questions

First of all, thanks much for the reply. I actually called Redarc in Australia yesterday afternoon and talked to "Todd" who was extremely friendly and helpful. He's not familiar specifically with the IBS but is familiar with dual battery management systems. I asked him the same question and...

Upgrade Slee auxiliary battery tray to Slee tray with compressor mount

Very nice job! I unfortunately have the ARB dual air compressor and air manifold on the Slee tray, which eats up tons of room.

Upgrade Slee auxiliary battery tray to Slee tray with compressor mount

Thanks for the suggestion (I had considered that) however driving down washboard and similar roads, I really don't trust a component such as that to not be more secure with bolts, screws, etc.

    Dual battery setup questions

Great topic and have another question to throw out there: I currently have an IBS system in my 100 series (also 2 AGM batteries both with Slee battery trays), and am considering purchasing the Redarc BCDC 1225D. Has anyone already done something similar and if so, were there any compatibility...

Upgrade Slee auxiliary battery tray to Slee tray with compressor mount

Thanks for the reply and may have to end up doing that. However, I'm looking for creative ways that folks have mounted the Blue Sea (or similar), somewhere near the auxiliary battery or on the actual tray. All of my auxiliary component electrical wiring is hooked up to the auxiliary battery...

Upgrade Slee auxiliary battery tray to Slee tray with compressor mount

Question for you 100 series folk: I currently have Slee's aux battery tray installed with the shelf that I installed a Blue Sea Systems fuse panel on. I purchased Slee's newer tray that has the mount for the ARB dual compressor (which I already have mounted elsewhere) as I want to switch over...

AHC Removal - Fuses vs ECU

Same with me. IIRC, there is another fuse or relay under the DS dash somewhere that is supposed to stop the "low" blinking green light and disable the white truck silhouette lights. Would love to know where that thing is if that is indeed the "fix".

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Yea, I know, very strange. Particularly when the system had less coolant in it now, then when I swapped the t-stat. And yes, I'm letting the engine idle the entire time. Even though my driveway has an uphill slope, I put the Cruiser up on blocks to elevate the front end even further to assist...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Hey gang - Still having issues and could really use some additional suggestions... Here's the situation this morning: 1) I drained about a cup of coolant out of the radiator bottom drain valve due to the problem I had yesterday (coolant started to overflow with radiator cap off, per Tare's...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Yea, my driveway has a little uphill slant on it and had assumed that would be good enough. I did also have the heater/AC on full heat ("hot") and kept the fan on low per Tare's write-up. Just got back from doing some errands, found the fluid reservoir just a little over the fill line. Scan...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

So, here are some pics I took while swapping the thermostat: 1) hose removed from housing, 2) t-stat housing covered removed, 3) old (on left) vs. new ( on right). As mentioned prior, I was able to remove the hose and t-stat housing cover with removing any other engine parts. However, I did...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Hmmmm.... Ok, so here's an issue that just popped up. After following the instructions that Tare posted above regarding re-filling the radiator, leave the radiator cap off, etc., I did just that. When the engine temp reached ~ 100 deg F., the radiator fluid started over-flowing out of the top...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Yep - agree with your logic (at least 3 knowledgeable people...) so will plan to do that, today. Just finished replacing the t-stat. One correction from my prior post: The t-stat and o-ring/gasket were purchased at Napa Auto Parts and NOT Toyota (I purchased the red anti-freeze from Toyota...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Yes, they are indeed cheap, so I guess it's worth it. Will run over to the local Toyota dealer later today and swap it out after I replace the t-stat. About ready to jump into it now. Will take and post pics.

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

I'm using a Toyota OEM 180 deg F thermostat. Curiously, the dude at the Toyota dealer said that they also have one rated for 170 deg F. I asked him which was standard and he said the 180. Also, I replaced the heater "T's" shortly after I bought the Cruiser. Did the same with my 80 before I...

    Thermostat - install / symptoms / overheating

Newps - Thanks for posting this thread. I'm planning to (finally) change my thermostat tomorrow. When I bought my 100 about 4 years ago, I had the coolant flushed, but didn't do the thermostat swap. Been having some weird temp issues the past 3 weeks so am starting with the t-stat in hopes...
