you can get a BDS for cheaper than what CCOT offers. I paid $450 for mine, but the vendor is no longer in business (might have been selling lift kits to cheap)
The greater the gap, the greater the voltage (potential) required to cross (arc) the gap. That's why with high powered coild you can use a bigger gap.
I can't imagine that this would be that effective in a 2F, but I really have no experience with it. There are also modules that fire...
I lived there from 1986 through 89 and then from 1991-1992. I went to San Andrews the first time and the Calvert the second. I haven't been back since '99. Both my parents are Bolivians, but neither live there anymore. Are you Bolivian?
Make sure you take them on a Choqueyapu River tour while they're in the city...they'll never forget the lovely aromas. How are things in La Paz these days? Evo seems to be stirring things up pretty well. I sure miss Pacena and Saltenas.
Yeah, I'm hoping a local will chime in. Most probably would point to the mechanic I am using.
The problem is that the mechanic was going to desmog the rig and I doubt there are any other mechanics that are capable of desmogging a 2F correctly, if they will do it at all.
I think upsidedown is...
Why the 4-speed? If your going to go through all the trouble I would do the 5-speed. I think you would be much happier if your truck see any time on the highway.
Yeah I can get my cruiser out of there, but I need a place to take it and we all know it's not easy to find a good, honest mechanic. I'm going to start looking though, that way I have an option to lay on the table next time I talk to the shop.
The worst part of this is that I could do all this...
Thanks a lot for the input. Being the nice guy doesn't come easy to me, but there are few I can trust to work on my cruiser.
The fact is that if I was completely pragmatic I wouldn't have ever bothered with a 60 to begin with.
I absolutely think you are right, but that means I have to...
I almost don't know where to begin. A couple of years ago I started tearing into my FJ60. Lift, rebuilt knuckles, header, webber, new H55F. At the time I had a place at work where I would play around with it, but I lost my job and decided to just store the truck until I could find the time...
Yeah, I bought a dash mount one out of a 4runner for $50 on ebay. It matches the brown dash perfectly and I already have the dash pocket filled a panel of switches. It is slightly more than totally useless, but looks cool. By the way, I still have to use the wristwatch to tell the time...
What about the cable itself...it could be sticking inside the sleeve from corrosion or dirt. Definitely get that fixed. As for the redline, well if it did damage it is too late now, but I would fix the sticking throttle asap...no reason to push your luck.
