Hey guys, been quiet on here for a while. Guess I never resubscribed when they changed the forum software. Anyways, life's been crazy. Had my little boy 4 months ago.
My wife would like to finally be able to park in the garage come winter, so I've been clearing things out. No Tom, the 42 is...
I took some steel wheels off Ed's hands when he moved thinking I would use them on the 42. Now they're just taking up space in the garage. I think they're 15x10 6 on 5.5 with crappy old tires on them. Free to whoever wants to come pick them up.
After a weekend of fighting the push/pull power steering setup on my 42, I've decided that I should start looking at RHD 60 boxes with hydro assist.
I'm not sure what all translates between the 42 and 60 series power steering setups. Obviously the boxes are different. Does anyone know if the...
Hey Guys, I've been talking with Tom about seeing if some of you want to come up to wheel with the other group that I'm a part of, the FJ Off Road Club.
We're doing a run next weekend. Anyone who's interested just needs to sign up for a standard membership at FJORC.org for $30. That will get...
I have a set of 3 seats out of my BJ42 LX for sale. It came with all but the rear 2 seater when I bought it. The passenger and jump seat are in great condition. The driver's seat is a little more worn with a rip at the edge. Also including belts, buckles, and whatever hardware I have such as...
Getting rid of a bunch of the parts that are sitting in my garage. Most of these are from a '71 FJ40. To be easy we'll say $50 for any of it, unless you think I'm insane and we can talk.
Manual steering box
Grill Grates
Fan Shroud and fan
Radiator Core
Spare Tire Carrier

Well, the usefulness of my 285/70/17s have run their course now that I have 37's on my Land Cruiser. I've loved these tires. They still have plenty of meat on them. I ran them for about 20k miles then switched over to AT's for daily use when I had my FJC. Tred depth is 1/2". Firestone lists...
Posting this up for guys in the club first.

Well I finally got the BJ back to my place last night from SC. I pulled in around 10 pm. Feels good to have her back in the garage again.
I could use some help with doing the SOA in the rear. I really don't think it should be more than a day of work. The biggest part I need help with is...
Well, I'm a moron and tightened the bolts down too hard on the pins to my full float rear. A couple pins are spinning freely in the hub and I stripped the threads on the side that holds the axle to the hub. Been searching for a while to figure out a fix, but I'm coming up blank. Here are the...
Drive shaft that is. I need either a new front one or to have my old one extended. I tried ordering one for a minitruck from NAPA, but it was the same length as my stock one. Who do you guys recommend in the PGH area?
Figured I'd start to chronicle my build.
1982 BJ42 LX - lived it's life in Australia until 3 years ago when it was imported to the US. I bought her in Sept 2010.
From the factory she came with PS and AC.
As I found her.
Then began the purchases...
Pre-cut and turned axle housing...
I really don’t want to do this, but I have an 82’ BJ42 that is now my wheeler. I need a tow rig, so the FJ must go.
2007 Black Diamond 6MT. One owner. Used as a daily driver with wheeling days every other month. 65K miles mostly due to driving from Pittsburgh to DC every week for 18 months...
I'm trying to pull the axle shafts on my BJ42 so I can yank out my 3rd for 5.29 and ARB installs. I was able to beat out the cone washers with a brass drift and a lot of whacking on the studs. I'm trying to remove the axle shaft, but the darn thing won't move.
The FSM says to tighten bolts...
Brand new, never used MAF Shackle Reversal Kit for E-07/80 FJ40s. Box was only opened to verify contents.
MAF 4+Plus Shackle Reversal Kits 40 Series
I'm changing paths with my build so my loss is your gain. MAF sells them for $235 + shipping.
I'll do them $200 shipped to your door in the US.
