For Sale  CO: FJ40 patina bib lights and inside rear view mirror arm

Early FJ40 patina bib lights and an inside rear view mirror arm. I did get one or both of the lights to work, so they aren't corroded or damaged beyond repair, but are weary. A few missing light face screws from one unit. See photos. $30 + shipping for the whole lot. PM me. Steve (Colo...

Baffled: 3fe with quick build up on plugs... from what?

@Carlp336 - My '78 2F plugs looked like that when the valve stem seals were shot. The plugs cleared up after seal replacement. Your buildup was very fast and heavy for the miles driven, however. Also check the PCV valve to be sure you're not sucking in too much crankcase goo and use the correct...

    01’ Lx470 transmission

I could not find a shop in my town/county of 500K people that had the time or interest to rebuild mine. They can't get parts, they don't have the expertise, and they are too busy with the junk made by the Big 3 automakers. If you find a shop that claims they can rebuild it, ask them how many...

Multiple misfires after both heads and timing replacement, where to start?

You have put a ton of work into this. Can you find an independent Toyota shop in your area where you can bring it and bounce ideas off them? It's unlikely a dealer visit would help. Have your replaced the coils with only either OEM or Denso-brand coils? Does this misfire (if on a particular...

    CruiserCorp scam?

That is ultra lame. I haven't seen an OEM new brown dash pad in 10 years of casually looking, so the likelihood of them having one is about zero. Turns out, it's less than zero.

    new-to-me 2005 gx470, seeking advice!

    2) The dreaded fender flare fade is starting to appear above my wheel wells. This destroyed the look of my 05 4Runner and I’m looking for the best way to slow its progression on my GX. Polish, wax, ceramic coat, etc? Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated! IMO, to slow it, park it indoors as...

ABS kicks in sometimes when I turn

@albertliang3 - Google this. Many Toyotas do it, and the cause isn't super obvious. It's your stability control falsely kicking in. Some attribute it to loose wheel bearings, and some to bad sensors. Few have found a simple solution.

SOLD  CO: 1982 Fj60 carburetor - no jets, otherwise complete

This is a 1982 FJ60 carburetor that has had the jets removed. I was present when it was taken off the truck, and watched another guy carefully remove the jets for a project. It is otherwise complete, as seen in the photos. Lots of great parts, or install jets and run it. It has been boxed in my...

New member, older LC, 1st post

I vote to leave it stock until your usage dictates otherwise. My '99 LX will go anywhere I want it to (in Colorado mountains), and then some. My '99 LX just turned 325K a while back and it's going strong.

Cruiser corps rear seat cover issues…

Were there no instructions? You could check SOR and see if they have instructions online for their covers that might give some ideas. I can't see how these could work, but maybe you roll under the extra material, or cut it off and re-hem with sewing machine. You shouldn't HAVE to do this, of...

    1975 FJ40 440 Swapped

Many swaps lose the fan shroud. You must have a well-made, close-fitting fan shroud so that the engine fan does some good.

Rear main seal or oil pan leak?

@DirtMcgirt79 Replace the pan gasket first. 99% of trucks with the original gasket need it, and the job is so much easier than pulling the transmission. My FJ62 has 262K and still has the original, non-leaking rear main seal. If needed, you can heat the flange of the oil pan to remove the old...

What am I missing? replacement horns

If you want OEM, I found that '99 LX horns were different than '99 Land Cruiser horns, but while at the junkyard, the horn from a '08 4Runner matched the LX horn perfectly. Recall there are 'hi' and 'low' note horns, so get the right one(s).

Steering Assembly replacement - my version

BTW: keep very mindful of steering wheel position. Do not turn it, with rack disconnect or even TRE end(s) off. Anymore than to bring back to level, while attaching intermediate shaft. Turn to far, will bust the clock spring. Turn and get confused and then clock wrong, you bust the clock spring...

Price check...looking for my first Toyota

Miles? Photos? Could be a $6K or a $12K vehicle. No frame rust and has been reinforced No 3rd gen frame needs 'reinforcing' unless it rusted out - you need to find out what this phrase means.
