overheats with the fan on...by fan , do you mean while running the a/c? If so, make sure that your fan clutch is working correctly. When running the a/c, the condenser (which is in front of the radiator) heats up, which in turn heats up the radiator. If the fan clutch is not working...
On a 15" wheel, 3-1/2" of BS is the most you can get away with. I don't think the extra 1" of diameter will be enough to clear the TREs. You'll probably need 1/2" spacers.

I found these while I was looking for a second set of wheels & tires to use for mudding & trails. I bought the tires off a guy that had a toy p/u and was upsizing. The tires had 125 miles on them at the time and I paid $600 for them. If you've been looking at the prices of boggers, you know...
Here's a pic of my guages. I like these because they don't stand out too much and maintain the stock look. They also hide the ugly duct work under the dash. The only thing I need to change is the location of the guage panel...it needs to be centered under the cig lighter.
They are pretty easy to install. Just remove the stock sending unit, which is threaded into the oil filter housing, and plumb in the the tubing and fittings that come with the guage.
I would install a 3 guage panel - water temp, oil press, voltmeter - that way you have all the bases...

If you clip the ground lead to the metal tab that the wht/blk wire connects to, it will be a good ground point. I tapped into this wire (wht/blk), as well, to use as the ground on the 3rd brake light.
I had this same problem when I first bought my 62. As SgtMunger suggests, open the panels on the inside of the hatch. Lift up on the knob as you look inside and you will most likely find one of the operating rods has come loose from the arm. I was able to snap it back into place and it has...
...not necessarily! Could be a bad stock guage. My stock guage was reading low, so I installed a mechanical one to verify it. At idle and at normal op temp it's around 40 psi, driving around it's around 60 psi.
I installed mechanical oil press, water temp, and voltmeter and I'm glad I did...
I've removed my cats and had straight pipes welded in their place. Still have the stock muffler. It's louder for sure. As far as how it sounds...:meh: Definitely not a small block sound, more like a louder tractor. It is an improvement over stock though.
I want to replace the stock muffler...
if they're 15" wheels...yes. 3-1/2" BS max on a 15" wheel. You might be alright with a bigger wheel, say 17", but not sure.

I took some pics of my wheels and their BS.
I've looked at you pic a few times, and other than the bumper end caps, I don't see anything missing. Maybe it's an old pic...:hhmm:
Try these guys if you are really missing it. I've bought a few things from them.
