Added a little too much old gas (5 gal) on top of good gas (~7 gal) in my '03 and it cut off in short order. Apparently that old gas was worse than I thought, probably a good bit of water in there.
Anyway, I put 5 more gallons of premium and a bottle of "mechanic in a bottle" treatment in...
Hey all,
saw this unusual diesel fj60 (GX) with barn doors forsale in Morehead City, NC Figured I’d post it here since I can’t put it in classifieds as it’s not mine to sell. Sticker said "1988 4WD Manual Diesel $35 K" 252-242-3171
Had to sell the cruiser to get a bigger truck to pull my boat... I have a tan husky liner for a 100 series in great shape that I'd be willing to give away if someone comes to get it. Call 252-945-4241
Maybe I'll be back in a few years with a vintage cruiser.
Cheers,
B
This is a long shot i know but I am looking for my wife. She wants the bells and whistles and likes white and tan. I have a gray 2000 LC with 108k in good shape, running board delete, 285's, suspension airbags, no lockers that I am going to trade or sell to get her what she wants. Of course what...
I think I might know the answer here but wanted to make sure before I spent the money.....
History. a few days of nothing on the first key turn, then turn again and crank.... next day no start, jump, started.
To the battery place, (determined charge was draining fast), new battery...
My trusted tire guys told me I had a loose front wheel bearing. Looked at thread on how to re-pack. Don't have the tools, know-how or real desire to try that myself. They hooked me up with a mechanic who quoted a price of $100 to repack one bearing...Not horrible I guess? But, after reading...
Hey guys,
I know this has been covered before. However, I've researched the Peripheral and USA spec models (that some have used) on Crutchfield and it says that those won't work with my factory stereo
I did find one that plugs in using RCA cables instead of the wiring harness.
Does...
Hey all,
I'm happy to report the wife let me off the hook and I have a "guys" weekend coming up! We are looking for a place to camp that won't be overrun with RV's, kids, etc. I thought this might be a good opportunity to find a cool camping spot that I could access with the LC.
I don't...
Thought I'd share some before and after pics. I'm loving the ride of the 285 BFG's and they look tons better...The racks don't go on unless I'm taking the canoe or kayak somewhere. They are LOUD at hwy speed and along with the new tires don't do much for MPG's. All in all, looks a bit less...
Based on the following daily use, what would y'all suggest as the most logical suspension upgrade.
1) Regular use on highway, fire roads, beaches, some mud. NO ROCKS here.
2)towing 2500-5000 on highway regularly
I don't know if I need heavier shocks and springs like a slee med lift...
OK so I know less than nothing about underneath a car. I have read about how easy it is to "crank the torsion bars" but cannot find an illustration of where to put the wrench.
The torsion bars (straight longitudinal bars with gear like teeth on the end) to me look like they are happily...
Took the running boards off of my 2000 that I've had for 3 months...hopefully will be getting some new tires, thinking of moving up to some 285 nittos or BFG's.
I've noticed that when I tow a boat and when I press on the drivers side bumper there is a squeak that sounds alot like a creaky...
Wondering if anyone has an idea of the swing out clearance provided by an aftermarket bumper/tire carrier. If I want easy access to the back with the trailer hooked up, didn't know if carrier would hit winch assembly on boat trailer?
Have looked at ARB style and Slee. Any other brands to...
Hey all,
I'm a new 100 series owner (2000 model with 86k) , first land cruiser ever, been lurking on ih8mud for awhile. Brief history is that I started out 2 years ago drooling over fj60's, then fj80's, test driving a few of both, and finally deciding that I needed something that would tow a...
Hey all,
Very excited to say I am a new (to me) LC owner. I think I got a great truck here. In awesome shape for a 10 yr old and rides like a dream. I recently moved to the end of a washboard road that gets nice and muddy in the rain. So it's fun just to leave my house is this rig...
Hey all,
I know it's been asked before...Is the 100 as reliable as the 94-97 fj80?
I've always liked the look of the 80 but after viewing this thread I was suprised at how good the 100 looks when it's got some bigger tires and no running boards...I have read good things about the...
