Howdy everyone, I need to fix the drivers seat bottom material and would really like to renew the foam while the seat bottom is apart. Any known sources for stock seat foam? Located in So. Calif. A pic of my rig for attn.
I need to do a timing belt on the wifes 05 and saw this kit on Amazon but not sure if its real Toyota parts or fake china parts. I used the the Aisn kit when I last replaced all the components in 2012. Thanks for the help. (pic of my 1980 FJ40 outside of Death Valley for your viewing pleasure)
I just checked the weight of each connecting rod with pin, piston, rings and bearing shells. 4 weighed exactly the same 1824 grams. 1 was 1828 grams and the other one was 1831 grams. I removed material from the 2 heavy rods and got them to weigh 1824 grams.
Rebuilding the 1987 2F in my 1980 FJ40. Each wrist pin is 20 grams heavier than the stock pins, everything else is exactly the same weight. The reputable machine shop I'm using says that inline 6's don't need balancing as long as all 6 pistons, pins, rods and rings weigh the same. Not believing...

Thanks Steamer, the gear in your pic looks like my old gear where the rubber was starting to fail and the reason I replaced it with the ITM unit. This FJ40 was my daily driver until 2 years ago when I retired it for a GX470.
