What have you done to your 200 Series this week?

Happy Thanksgiving! I haven't posted for a while, but my '11 LX is still kicking ass and taking names at 128K miles. This week I replaced plugs (needed them) and replaced brake pads for the second time (didn't need them) and rotors for the first (didn't need them) and also flushed the brake...

LX570 AHC “Basics” - Added as sticky thread for AHC Issues

So I guess I am missing something about the quart bottles? Are they known for going bad?

LX570 AHC “Basics” - Added as sticky thread for AHC Issues

Oh shoot! You're right! 2.5l metal, not 5 liter. I'll edit my original post. Thanks

LX570 AHC “Basics” - Added as sticky thread for AHC Issues

Where is everyone getting their AHC fluid? I have 2 liters of Toyota (PN 08886-81221) left over from my last service and need 3 more. The local Toyota dealer said Toyota is "no longer selling" AHC fluid and "it is no longer in the system." He recommended an aftermarket brand called Pentosin...

Anyone have Land Cruiser roof rails laying around?

I remain interested in replacing my LX rails with LC rails as well...sometimes more than at other times. (Usually coincident with when I need to carry something!) Would someone who has installed aftermarket "LC Rails" be willing to recommend a source? There are a ton of rails available on eBay...

    DIY oil change?

Because I already have the compressor and other pneumatic tools. And...I am so sick of batteries and cords and chargers and changing battery standards and so on. Gonna stay old school until my compressor dies (it's only 24 years old)

    DIY oil change?

Quick comments: Change filter every time when changing oil Fumoto valve with short hose into catch pan and the Jowett filter cartridge make it all better MOST IMPORTANLY: All of the bolts requiring removal for oil change, driveshaft lube and TC and front diff fluid change gave me an excuse to...

SOLVED: Blue Smoke on Start Up - Thoughts?

Thanks all. I am second owner, but purchased vehicle with only 9K miles. All oil changes done 10-12K miles, always Mobil One except once. We drive it easy - the car is for fast starts and fast drives. Checked the cap and found sludge. PCV on order. I'm in the middle of a house move, so...

SOLVED: Blue Smoke on Start Up - Thoughts?

🔧🔧🔧EDIT: BLUE SMOKE ON START UP WAS CAUSED BY FAULTY PCV VALVE. Thanks for all of your responses. The old valve didn't even rattle when I shook it.:beer: Well, I hate to even type the words "Blue Smoke" on this forum. But I saw a significant cloud yesterday drift away from the back...

    Radiator preventative maintenance

More great radiator discussion. We can keep kicking around whether or not JB Weld is a good proactive measure...but it's been a couple of years since the idea first surfaced and I have yet to read of a JB Welded radiator failure at the stress crack. However, there have been plenty of non-JB...

Just curious, what's your OTHER vehicle?

Just "upgraded" from a 2014 C4S to this 2015 C2S! The upgrade part: this one has only 4750 miles...I've got a serious Jones for NAS screamers. Next year I'll take it to Barber. I've got well over a thousand laps there on bikes and can't wait to see how the P-car feels!

What is the most expensive repair you've had on your 200 / LX570?

Gotta shout it out: 2011 LX w/ ~75K miles, purchased late 2015 with 10K miles. -- ZERO repairs necessary. Nothing but preventive and routine maintenance. Love this truck!

    2013 LX570 with AHC failures

Can't argue with that. Did you sensor lift? Disregard - I just read your small print. 725 pounds over GVWR is pretty damn amazing.
