Anyone tried to claim warranty on an original Longfield Birfield through Trail Gear?
I bought a 30 spline superset from Bobby Long back in 2008. One Birfield has just locked up. I called TG and they said they would assess it for warranty if I returned it along with the purchase receipt. I don't...
It was a long time ago....... I'm pretty sure on the front I just swapped the main leaf with the eyes. On the rear I think I may have
kept the main leaf with the eye and the second leaf with the military wrap. Then I used the leaves out of the front 60 pack, including the leaf with the military...
I used 60 front springs on the front and rear of my 55. I took the main leaf off 60 springs and replaced it with the main leaf off the 55 springs. This I kept the small OD bushes.
It would be nice to be quoted! The are my posts from another forum. I have heaps of old Overlander magazines with reviews and ads for the 60's. They are in storage, but once I get them out I can upload some pics with info.

I've been a member here for 10 years, but have been AWOL for the last few.... still have (and love) my HJ60. Here it is on a recent trip with Rick O'Briens 60.
Hi, just read all of your thread, nice Pig! I have a couple in Launceston. I have a thread on here for my original one and I have another, unregistered but in good nick. I paid $300 for the second one!
I would be checking the glow plugs. Remove the rail that connects to all glow plugs and then check continuity between earth and the top of the glow plug. If any read OL or massive reisstance they are buggered. If any of them are buggered, replace all of them and use the good ones as spares. I...
In Aus they are all FJ55. I didn't know there was an FJ56. Anyone got a pic of the plate?
In Aus the FJ55 came with 'tailgate' drop down rear door. Barn doors were an option that could be specified when ordering.
I've got one of each :)
I am using Bilstein shocks off a 60 series. The rears are fine lenty wise, the fronts are about 40mm too long for the 55, but I have a lift of about that. The bottom bush needs to be chnaged out too. Check my buidup, all the part #'s and pics are there.
