I have a decked and bored block and brand new pistons not yet installed along with nearly everything else needed to complete the rebuild, including flywheel and bellhousing and accessories. Not everything is in the pictures, so feel free to message me. Sorry no carburetor. The crank needs to be...
If any of you have some old California legal Downey headers laying around or know someone else who does, and wouldn't mind making a few extra bucks, I'm in the market. And by that I mean I really need some, since apparently a machine shop can't resurface exhaust headers because of the no. 1 and...
Alright so I've used the search and I understand there are a few differences in the '75-80' 2f motor blocks and the '80-'86(I believe) 2f motor blocks.
The latter of which has (and correct me if I am wrong):
-a more balanced crank shaft
-Lighter\more balanced connecting rods (?)
-Flat topped...
So I am aware that Downey Off Road has been out of business for a few years now but does anyone know if anyone has a similar conversion. My head is spinning with locker options, right now and well to say the least I don't have 1200 to drop on one ARB let alone two. I was originally planning on...
this is such a rediculous question that i don't even think theres an answer for it anywhere here. I have to regear my 60 because the PO welded the gears together to lock it (lincoln locking i believe...haha or link in..., link and...) like I said I'm a noob. anyhow since i have to regear and I'm...
Ok so the other day I pulled the rear diff cover off my 60 (83) to replace a leaky gasket and change the fluid and found that the weld the PO did (i think it's called a Lincoln locker) failed. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm new to this whole realm of 4x4 and most the work that revolves around it...
Also referred to as the smog pump I believe....any how my pump I believe is still good but the flanges that apparently bolt on and that the hoses connect to the smog/air pump by are missing. since i don't need an entire pump just the flanges and really don'want to spend a couple hundred bucks I...
So I recently picked up my '83 cruiser for $1,800 which I almost feel bad for because of the minimal rust and the fact that it runs good and but I'm stoked to have it and build it up a little more. BUT it is evident that soon here i will need to rebuild my birfields, and replace my rotors and...
so I got a carb rebuild kit for my aisan 2 barrel carb and for the most part everything worked great but the diaphragm that came with it is not the same at all and i can not use it and was wondering where i can find the diaphragm that fits and if anyone else has run into a similar problem...thanks
I recently got a semi-built '83 fj60 that I plan on slowly building up. At the moment it runs well but will not pass smog and I was advised to replace the vacuum lines (that were all hooked up wrong when i got them) and that it would be a good idea to upgrade the carb. Now I am totaly for this...
