18" is a good start. The tub depth is approx 18" so, whatever can go under the rails will still sit flush with the top of the tub rails.
The work looks great!
Roberto,
That leg was an ebay find I came across some time ago. The first pic is from the ebay ad and the 2nd from the person who has it now, Bill aka FeilEOD. Bill and I did some bartering for the leg.
It was actually intended to be a trailer jack and is unfortunately no longer made...
As I don't have the trailer in front of me, but IIRC the M101CDN has 2 or 4 drainholes in the outer corners. It doesn't have the drain plugs like its US counterparts.
directly from the M416 manual, chapter 1, page 1-6
"1-6. EQUIPMENT CHARACTERISTICS, CAPABILITIES, AND FEATURES.
a. Characteristics.
(1) Watertight body will float the trailer and payload during fording."
The stated payload rating is 500# both 'highway' and 'cross country' on both the M416...
I did just that for what Erich mentioned for some quick'n dirty 2D views.
Also, have a native SolidWorks file of just the tub. I would like to eventually detail up the entire trailer as best as possible. Now just need some more time....
shoot me a PM and I'll forward what I have.

From what I've seen as the biggest request item of the Spen trailers is the hub caps. If you have them and do not plan on doing a restore job on the trailer you should be able to get some good coin for them.
They are embossed with the Spen name on them. I came across a lonely Spen sitting...
Just going by the 'lipped' fenders, it could possibly be a Spen trailer w/ some mods
Try looking up Bill Oakes over on G503. He has one and seems to be the most informed person on Spens.
I do have his contact info on my home PC. I'll look it up tonight and PM you.

Also, I'll add that I called the OEM of these and tried to get a certificate of compliance from them stating the trailer met USDOT regs. I was kindly told they probably met the regs, but they didn't have anything stating that and were not willing to provide me with anything.
As I now have the paperwork in front of me that was required when I went thru the process I'll try to lay it out for you as best I can recall.
At first I tried contacting the DOT and a US Customs agent directly. The DOT was do it by the book. The Customs agent outcome was pretty much...
I did that very thing. This was a few years ago after an exhaused search for one stateside. Now there are multiple sources in the US with trailers or CDN sources that will ship it out of Canada w/ paperwork for you. If you can find one already stateside I'd suggest that route first.
The...
Yes, he had old J**p parts, and every quarter ton part you could think of in some shape or form lying around. He offers a great service to the resto crowd.
For $700 you might as well find an old 1/4 ton lying around or even consider an M101CDN for abit more...???
