Just curious, but did you check the A arms for worn joints? Excess play in worn joints might cause a problem. If it wasn't leaning right after the lift was put on, then you have another problem. Is the driver side front wheel leaning in at the top a little? Jack the frame up and see if there is...
I also checked IAAI and they sell salvage vehicles. It appears to me to be the same one still advertised. I noticed the cowl to tub seam is missing. I would check the VIN plate number under the hood with the VIN number stamped into the frame on the passenger side just in front of the front...
Very nice job. I agree it takes first class prep work to get a first class finish. Can't wait to see the finished product with the paint job.
You gave a lot of great tips on each step. Excellent work.
The ones from Pure FJ cruiser have the kick out and they fit perfect. U can stand on them or jump up and down if you want. They work great in the ruff.
I installed toytec 3" adjustable on my wife's FJC and the ride is way better than the TRD suspension it came with. Off road and on it is great. It has a winch on it and Expedition one trail series Diamond bumpers. I added air ride bags in the rear coils for when we tow our aluminum off road...
Right or wrong?
They look reversed compared to the factory stance. However the longer wheel base is desired by some folks. I noticed the shackles on the front are straight down. If they are loaded right now with the front end weight of the 40 then they will ride very stiff. It is best to have...
Is the travel rod from the booster to the master adjusted properly? Is the piston on the calipers on the front moving in and out freely? If not you might want to look into rebuilding them or get new ones. There is some good information in the FAQ area of this forum on rear disc set ups also. I...
Don't even think about re-arched springs. They will not hold their shape very long.
You have a cherry looking rig. Putting 33's on a 4" lift will make it look a little more beefier. You can always go back to original. New springs and shocks will ride so much nicer.
Looking at the rear tire centered in the wheel opening it looks good. However I noticed the shackles are in the slack or forward position and will move the axle to the rear when compressed. Is this going to be an issue for U ?
I know this is old but Bilsteins 5100 series are night and day over Rancho. I have used Rancho on different 4x4's for at least 40 years. I did Bilsteins on my wife's FJ Cruiser and they were awesome. I just put some on our 2000 Silverado 4x4 with 75 K miles on it. They are great.
Regular with or with out ethanol, 87 octane and add sea foam to it. 1 oz. per gallon. It will help clean the carburetor and keeps the ethanol from turning to slime. It does a great job as a stabilizer too. Way better than Stabil. Look for it on sale everywhere. Some places it is $12.00 per 16 oz...
