I have a 1981 FJ60 (White), SOA, original Engine, original Carb, original Tranny. Very few modifications have been done. I have a custom front bumper and I have not made the rear bumper yet. I have a set of sliders for the truck, they were cut off to build new ones, but they can be...
I think the next trailer I build, (starting in Jan 2018), will be called "Fett" and will follow this paint scheme.
This is a trailer design I mocked up in Autodesk Inventor and rendered in MODO.
I guess I should paint it, then scuff it up and bang in dents with the 2lb. hammer, lol
well if it hadn't snowed yesterday and it wasn't 50 deg's outside I'd be out there sanding and priming the doors today... I should be able to finish the whole truck in about 3 weeks... if I have good weather... I don't have a heated garage, so I have to wait for the sun, lol
Yes, The plan is to keep the roof white, then the trailer I'm making will be Blue with a white lid... my girls want me to stay with the Star Wars theme of "Rex" and "Cody"... but I also told them that the next trailer I build (which is also in progress), can be painted OD Green with a gray lid...
Just ordered some "clips" to install the hood blanket and front rubber seal back onto the hood, next will be the front and rear doors, followed by the hatch and gate, then the roof (keeping that white) and to finish up with the body... it's a "paint by panel" project
Okay, with the recent snow today in HOUSTON, TX of all places, I decided to get the hood installed back on the ole FJ60 this morning.
So tell me what you think... and be honest... Orange or a different color? (stupid sketter landed in my paint), and now it's to cold and wet to sand and and...
drenmaster, this works great and can be made from a piece of 2X6 and a bent tube, flat bar and a few pieces of angle. but like you, it's just temp until I can make a better bumper. I can send you a drawing if you'd like?
Started prepping to paint the truck a different color, going with the RAL 2000 (Yellow/Orange). I started with the front panel, hood is next... once those two are done we will decide whether we want to do the whole truck... but we need to get some paint on a large space to tell if we are going...
How to add a 3rd row to your FJ60. The girls had fun making this.
Had a few people ask me about the "way back seats" that I mentioned in someone else's posts, so I decided to make a video instead of just posting pictures.
The concept can be used for any seat, but this video shows the mounting...
