Seat mods have large safety implications to be taken into account. Have you considered adding plates on the underside of the floor to run the bolts thru? Those bolts with washes will rip right thru the sheet metal floor if there is a solid hit. Seats, kids and all will fly forward. Given the...
Not sure if this helps you, but this is an issue that others might need to be aware of. On my GM power steering set up the tie rod is tight left to right, but the drag link from the pitman arm to the tie rod twists a bit front to back when going from left to right which causes slop in the...
I would be very leery of heating anything without risking warping the housing, changing the temper, etc. The amount of heat required might have to be very excessive. A slide hammer would be a good investment for lots of uses.
Well, my .02 is: 1. You get it all in one package, just be sure it fits (do your home work!) 2. you got to pick it up so you will see it in person before you write the check, and 3. I don't see anyone else showering you with more options. Piece by piece it will cost you more, unseen plus the...
It sounds like you are in danger of over thinking it. Unless you have significant backlash in the ring to pinion or spider gears, I highly doubt that you have an issue. The remaining grey goop will dilute in the new gear oil. If it ain't broke, don't disassemble it. You'll be fine.
I run both, the electric on a toggle switch on the dash. When I go to start I flip on the electric pump and wait for the gas to get up to the carb--the sound will tell you it's up to pressure--and then I switch it off and crank the engine and it starts right up. Simple way to save battery and...
I drilled holes in my channel to match the existing threaded holes from the hardtop and it worked fine. The windshield frame does arch a tiny bit so you might need 4 hands to bend the channel. It ain't much. I did have to locate and drill the windshield frame for the corner snaps using sheet...
I would be more inclined to mount a winch front and rear. A rear mounted one could tuck up inside the rear cross member if the exhaust and a spare fuel tank isn't in the way. A mid-mount winch will have the tires, springs and steering linkage getting in the cable run between the winch and a...
I would take a look at the mounting bracket and see if you can't locate the slave more into alignment. A bit off will be OK but that is too much. And get that spring back on there to help secure against the rod slipping out of the fork detent.
Clutch rod needs adjustment? Something in the clutch assy dragging? Cold gear oil too thick? I once had a 3 speed that had to go into 1st before reverse just to line the gates up.
