The protective cap for the control plug on my Warn 12k winch deteriorated years ago. I've been concerned about water entry and finally decided to find a covering for the exposed plug. This is a vinyl cap from McMaster Carr. Fit is snug so it'll stay on and I went with red for visibility.
I've had this Warn 12k winch for 16 years, bought it new and it has worked well over the years except the last time I put it use. I had an extra Albright contactor on the shelf and wired that in using the diagram from this thread Warn 5 Pin socket wiring New and Old colors wiring Albright -...
Just posting this as an observation on a Badlands 1500 lb ATV winch. I found the winch in a dumpster and externally it looked ok, so I took it home. When I tested it though, it would not work. Yesterday I pulled it apart. Motor looked good but the problem was with a fractured side of the...
This one is local to me. I think it's overpriced.

We have some acreage that needs yearly+ maintenance which, in the past, was bush hogging. After about 5 minutes I'm ready to get off the tractor when it comes to bush hogging. Knowing the ecological benefits of fire and having several friend who have had substantial fire training and...
In assembling a new H55F and t-case I encountered unexpected assembly issues, at least nothing that I had anticipated with new transmission. First was with the pilot bearing, which was an Aisin. The clutch kit I purchased was Aisin and in checking the fitment of the pilot bearing on the input...
Had some trouble with the transfer case recently in that it would not shift into 4WD and pulled it apart today. I found a pile of shredded metal, the oil slinger on the rear of the idler gear was missing, along with the inner thrust washer. The outer thrust washer was still present. Also one...
The rear hatch lock arm in my 80 is broken and split similar the one in post #17 of this thread Rear Hatch Lock Issues/Actuator Fix - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/rear-hatch-lock-issues-actuator-fix.1060081/. I tried an epoxy to fix it which failed. Could this part be 3D printed and/or is...
A few years ago I picked up a Svea 123 at a flea market, filled it with fresh fuel and fired it up. It's been a good running little stove for several years and I only use it to boil water for coffee but it's great for that. Back in the late 1970s-early 80s I had a Svea that I used for camping...
I'm trying to test the O2 sensors on my '97 which are Denso and have this wiring coloration (pulled from an old thread):
O2 wire Color Codes: Denso 4 wire sensors use the following code:
Blue = signal wire
Black = heater wire (non polarity)
Black = heater wire 2 (non polarity)
White = Aux...
I've recently gone through most of my cooling system, new CSF radiator, Aisin water pump, OEM radiator cap. Did not change out the thermostat because it has been working properly. I also reused the fan clutch that's been in a few years. With the warming temperatures I was seeing water temps...
I ran a homemade rack on my 60 for 8-10 years and found that have a roof rack was very useful at times. The old rack needed some work so I pulled it off but as I looked it over I did not want to reinstall it. Having seen the Bowfin rack I knew that was what I wanted to go with and I'm glad I...
Looking on Partsouq the shift seat part number for a later H42 is 3350560011 but I'm running a H55F in my 60. Is this part number the same for a H55F, and if not who knows the correct part number?
Has anyone repaired an odometer that has quite working? I'm facing that now. I haven't pulled out the non-functioning cluster yet but I have a spare that I've disassembled. The roll of numbers is held in place by a small rod and it appears that the rod end on the left in the photo cam be...
I've had two instances within the last 18 months when my hi-low shift linkage dropped into the t-case rendering the 60 stuck in low. I've had the t-case apart in the past at least twice and it's not been clear to me how to reinstall the hi-lo shift lever, and I've noticed any difference in how...
