    first gen windshield replacement

Did your response contain any actual reasons to counter my thoughts on the window gasket/sealer pros and cons or did it just contain some BS that you were ashamed of and had to erase like a liddle sissy. If you say it, be a man and leave it up for all to read. Theres allot of HGPDers on...

    first gen windshield replacement

Why the desire to have a crappy window gasket? I hate that style gasket. They always leak and help to rust out the lip faster. And like said already the glue in style adds strength to the cab. If you glue in a window properly it will last the life of the rig easily. A tube of urethane is...

    Pot belly stove

That seems like a bit a cash for that stove. It may be worth what hes asking but I see them all the time at garage sales and on CL here on the west side (puget sound) for around $100. Im cheap tho. Find a nice thick pipe on CL to use for the chimney instead of tin. It will hold heat and dist...

Just throwing a few parts together

Drill holes for pleasure? screw that. Drill holes that might cause trial friction? screw that. One popular thing I see alot of is guys just adding a 1/4 or 3/8 solid round rod to the outer edge of the sliders tubes to beef it up. No prep, just weld it on and keep building. Gives it a nice...

Axle idea I've had in my head- would it work?

Bobby Long built a pair of axles like this years ago. Way before Atomic even dreamed up anything remotely close. On a mini none the less. Its all been done boys.

    Hay Hooks

My ol ladys family is in the hay bizz. Its insane. They are always biitchin about the export hay screwing things up for owners here. Asians will pay more for alfalfa than you will pay for a prime steak. Thats the facts. Better start eating horses.

Just throwing a few parts together

I admire your priorities, block the mower in with a steel burnin project! I like dirty metal, I like the dirt floor, I like the jump in and get it done attack. I like the toy running gear and REAL axles. Thanks for not posting a 72 page long thread titled, "how would the web build a buggy?"...

    Front Driveline Question

Please continue to drill out your flange to accept a NON CV style rear shaft in the front of your SASed rig. In order to use a CV in its proper form in the front of your truck it would need to have the axle/knuckles cut and turned to allow the pinion to point at the tcase output like it did in...

    first gen windshield replacement

So Im confused? You have a second gen rig (84-88) with a stock glue in windshield. You ordered a rubber weatherstrip gasket for a first gen rig (79-83). Now you are warning others that it wont fit their second gen rig? Duh. Just glue the winder in there and be done with it. :meh:

    Fuel tank pressure?

I made a fuel cap yesterday with a quick connect instead of a vent. I will keep it in my ammo box on board. I used it to hook my onboard air to my fuel cell/keg and with regulated air at 40 psi it ran the efi great. I would never recommend this with a fuel TANK or CELL. My keg is plenty able...

    Fuel tank pressure?

Yeah ya caught a typo, its supposed to be SHOULD NOT. Normal atmospheric pressure is what it should be if the vent is working correctly. Sorry.

    Fuel tank pressure?

Should exceed that at all or even get close. 11psi is what some radiator caps blow off at. Thats not cool in a fuel tank.

    Front Driveline Question

Doesnt you truck have studs on the front flange instead of bolts? I have used cv shafts on those v6 flanges with studs and the pattern is still a little off. I just drilled out the ears one size and it snuggly fits over the studs. But a noncv shaft is the best route. A CV is missused in a...

    Front Driveline Question

I have done this tons of times. Ditch that stock CV. If you want to run a CV shaft then get one out of the front of a 84-85 truck. Or the rear of an extra cab with a two piece shaft with a CV. Or the rear of 96 up 4runners. Or just run rear non CV like you have been playing with, and...

    87 4Runner... 4:88 Gears stock except for 31" Tires

If you noticed, toyota trucks are overgeared and underpowered. You might just pick up some mileage by not working the engine so hard. An engine with less load working at a higher rpm can effeciently use less fuel than a loaded up low rpm engine that is sending alot of unburned fuel out the...

    Choppys Throwback

Dude I am way cheap. New bumpers are out of the question. Its an old truck, its getting old bumpers. I already have the nerfs. They are the solid round ones with no cut out for a step on top of them. Just need the bumpers and rollbar. I cant seem to find my camera either.

    Choppys Throwback

Im not talking about a 4runner. I have those laying around. Im talking about 79-82 truck (83 has ugly square headlights). Nice score on the runner. I have a silver one just like, but its smashed up into a little wad of tin.
