Hey guys, what's the torque setting on the nut holding the transfer case output flange on? I'm getting the small rear casting pulled off and re-seated with RTV to stop the seep past the new gasket.
Also, are there any other torque settings inside that rear part of the output shaft that the...
I've been trying to track down a slow drip from my t-case ever since I did the clutch job back in the summer. I was kind of pissed, thinking it was the seal that separates the cases of the t-case itself, but last night I washed the t-case down and let it dry, then I went for a long drive and...
Our Landcruisers? I'm thinking I want to get some service done...worried about Toyota's shop prices, and CDN Tire?...anyone have a suggestion and a name?
John
It seems the gasket that sits between the two halves of my transfer case is seeping, leaving me a little spot of oil in the morning. I imagine the leak will get worse before it gets better, so can anyone say from experience what this fix would cost at a dealer or independent?
Thanks
This text is from eBay, a UK-based fellow selling a Hilux Surf:

Any condition considered, will pay top dollar for the right unit. I'm in British Columbia, would prefer trailer to be reasonably close (within a day's drive).
Thanks,
Do you think my BJ70 will have a trailer wiring harness tucked away somewhere at the back end? If not, how would I wire up such a thing (assume a 24volt trailer).
Also, is it common practive to bolt a pintle hitch in place of the eye ring that currently sits on the bumper/rear frame...
Anyone have a part number for a 24volt dome light bulb from a BJ70? I went into Toyota today, and the girl working the parts counter asked me "what year?"...then came back with a shorter, 12volt bulb. I said this isn't the right one, what model are you looking at? She said "1988...
With the snow came the highway trucks with their gravel...and thus went my left front headlight lens.
I ordered a new pair of Hella 7" fixtures and 24v bulbs, but what is involved in aiming them? I have a magnetic laser level and a garage with a bare wall. What is the correct procedure?
My coolant was red, probably not original, but at least 2 years old (I've never done it). This weekend I figured I would swap it out. Here's what I learned for anyone doing the same:
1. Draining is easy enough, and when you refill, you get about 35L into it before it tops out.
2. When...
Wayne,
Do you figure I can somehow find a tin of touch up paint for this rig of mine? Given we have the same color, how do I go about that? I have three dime-sized nicks in the paint now that I want to spray before winter.
Friend of a friend has asked me for advice on purchase of a Blizzard with 2LT engine. I have discussed the head issue in great detail as it relates to the LJ's...is it also a concern with the Blizzards?
Have all references to the EPC file been removed/deleted due to fear of legal action? It would help to know that I missed the boat and should stop trying.
I finished installing the Rancho Add-A-Leaf kit today, waiting for OEM shocks to arrive Tuesday, but will have to wait for the weekend.
I would estimate an inital lift of about 2.5", obviously will droop somewhat but it's nice right now for sure.
I'm looking to get the dash mount pod that encloses the inclinometer on some 70-series trucks. Gauges not required as I want the pod to mount a tach, boost gauge and pyro.
