Have owned this '97 LX450 for the past 5 years.
The most obvious is a nicely done Cummins 6BT. This is a pretty fast 80 and does 0-60 in about 11 seconds. It will cruise at 70, 80, 90, NO PROBLEM.
Transmission is fresh and has a custom lower stall torque converter.
Engine has an aftermarket...
My glorious cruiser has the battery drain issue...
My door fuse seems to be responsible for the majority of the drain at 100+ma... Did some searching, but missing the easy button post where it lists what's all on the door fuse circuit, albeit plenty of door fuse threads.
Anyone have such a...
This thread is not to be about issues of delivery. Only documenting replacement parts fixes for issues and documenting the different versions of his adapter system over the years.
Lets accumulate part numbers and applications of parts used for reference. If there are question marks after...
Looking at the options for power distribution. I have some sort of odd complex about wiring and plumbing. I guess I just see to many DNFs, fires, and tow-homes from those two things not being done well...
My AC wiring was hacked all to pieces from the PO rendering in DOA. Fixable I'm sure, but...
I didn't find it on search, so thought to start a thread.
I didn't want to swap the stock stereo out.... I just prefer the OE look there...
We set out to add an iphone interface to the OE stereo, and wanted something more complete than just using the audio jack on the iphone. Found a cool toy...
Well, figure it's time to start a thread on my LX450 with a 6BT.
This is "The" Duiser LX450 build that they originally show cased as their better work.
I purchased from a fella that only had it a couple months. He never wheeled it or really drove it after he got it to Kansas. It's evident as...
Awesome FJ40- Getting Married- have to sell...
Well I listed my FJ40 several months ago and got talked out of selling by just about everyone I know. In the meantime, I didn't put any more miles on it (unfortunatly), but I did extend the wheel base. I love working on it, but this time, I have to...
Just cleaning the garage. It's on the bay. IT's in decent shape, but let the pics tell the story.

I've searched high and low and can't find the block that sits between the rear spider gears from when I went with an EZ Locker. If you have a spare one, please let me know, as I'm going back to a welded diff and am short on parts.
You can email me at lcgn@aol.com
Thanks!
I've now trail tested their high steer setup. I went with the high offset arms after finding that the mid offset arms wouldn't clear the spring packs. The tire rod ends are huge  and overall fit and finish is great.
First thing I noticed is that road manners are great now...this...
I have my front end completely apart now. Judging by the carniage in the knuckles, I'm thinking that a Birf has blown in here before...I've been planning on upgrading everything I take apart, so I was going to go with Longfields. However, the birfs that I took out seems to be pretty hefty, and a...
I'm new to the forum, but have to say that you have a great list here!
I've had several FJ40s over the years and have successfully avoided working on the front axle until now. I found that taking it apart was pretty easy and straight forward...However, I'm down to the checking writing part...
