155k on mine which I bought new. Outside of normal maintenance/consumables, I can remember only the following:
1. Power antenna, repaired by local mechanic.
2. Some electrical/ignition part - several years ago, can't remember exactly what it was, but wasn't expensive.
3. Front...
Thanks for the quick reply. I checked it out again and found that there is a rod connected to the base of the hinge. It's been pinched off just above the base. It looks like a fairly substantial job getting the bottom/back off the seat. Any tips for that??
The driver side section of my second row seat will no longer latch/lock down. When I tilt the seat down toward the floor, the latch nearest the door does not rotate into the down/open position so that it can engage the floor pin. The far side latch works fine. I don't know if the mechanism is...
Thanks to the power of the forum! I think I just fixed my driver's side leak by clearing out the drain tube. Man it's been driving me nuts. It's passed the hose test, and now I just need a good old fashioned frog-choker to see if it really works!
Well, on mine there is no ring. Just the cup and a hex type nut inside it. The manual is not particularly clear, but it doesn't show a ring either. It just says to put the hook into the cup, put light forward pressure on it, and to rotate it. If there's supposed to be a ring in there, then...
I'm trying to get the original spare tire down on my '99. If I'm doing this right, it appears that the "hook end" of the tool fits into a cup-like device above the tire, and you crank the assembly counter-clockwise and it's supposed to drop the tire. As far as I can tell, the hook just spins...
This has to be the lowest tech question ever on this board, but how the $&*^$*# do I get the original equipment jack out of its holder? I'm not completely hopeless on these sort of things normally, but just can't get the thing out. There's nothing in the owner's manual about it either.

Okay, here's a pic of my repair with the hose clamp and the red high-temp liquid gasket material that I put between the vibrating heat shields. The part that was rattling was just below the hose clamp where you can see the most gasket material. That's where the shields overlapped.
And the results are...
Not a peep, rattle, ring, or noise at all this morning. Smooth as a sewing machine! Can't believe I've finally silenced the beast.
I used the hose clamp and the liquid gasket material like caulking between the overlapping plates. Since I did both, I'm not sure if...
Hose clamps
Greg,
I found some large hose clamps at Loews. The one that goes up to about 4 1/2" or 5" was just right. I also put some high temperature liquid gasket material in between the heat shields where they overlap (and rattle!). I put the hose clamp on after putting in the gasket...
Although it definitely sounded like the noise was coming from the front of the engine, I now think it is the catalytic heat shields. I tried someone's suggestion and just started tapping on things with a plastic mallet. When I tapped on the exhaust behind the cat, it rattled the shields and...
Thanks, Koffer. I tried the mallet test and think the noise might be coming from the catalytic converter heat shields after all. There's definitely a similar sounding noise coming from there when I tap the exhaust pipe behind the cat. I pulled the shield apart a little where they were...
In my '99 Cruiser I've had a high frequency, harmonic vibration noise coming from the engine area. It sounds like two thin metal plates vibrating against each other. It's worse when I first start it up and accelerate lightly. It doesn't occur under no load (unless on first start up in the...
