Actually brakes are fine, including e-brake. I am just cautious. Driveway is steeper than it looks and I park a 05 Tundra directly behind it overnight ~~~
Hey all,
I took the chrome strip off around my rain gutter. Looks better and hope to prevent rust. It still seems to hold dirt and moisture. Can I drill some sort of weep holes to allow it to drain better? If so, which locations would be best. Also, has anyone cleaned and re-caulked? Mine is...
Trying to keep the overall original look (to the truck) as much as possible. I agree that the bumpers aren't the best. Are there aftermarket bumbers available that are stronger and look similar?
Thanks
The stock bumpers on my 84 FJ60 are in decent shape, but the chrome has worn
down a bit. I was thinking of either having them both re-chromed or paint them black. I am trying to keep the truck as original as possible, but will be painting the grill and headlight doors black. Thought painted...
Anyone used this dash cover from SOR (about half way down the page, listed as "60 Series Dash cover")

They state that it is "vacumm formed vinyl". Looks like a new dash. How is it applied ?
I found that the rattle in mine was caused by the lower gate. The rattle was due to the internal linkage for the release lever . I removed the tailgate carpet, and access doors and sprayed some insulating foam under the linkage to deaden the noise. If you do this, be careful not to let the foam...
The guy at the link:

states he doesn't do reflective paint. Mine are so far gone (blue/yellow) that Ican't tell if the plates were reflective originally. Does anyone know if the California blue/yellow plates were reflective?
Thanks
The plates are the original ones, but they're in bad shape. I want to keep the original style of plate if possible. Looks like a call to the DMV is the next step.
Thanks - Marc
I would like to either restore or replace my old yellow on blue California license plates (84 FJ60). There are several people out there who will restore original plates, but for about $80 per plate.

Do any of you know if you can buy old, unregistered plates and...
Since the chrome on my headlight doors and grill is pretty chipped, I was thinking of painting black . A few questions:
1. Should I use primer/paint specifically for plastic?
2. Good paint to use ?
3. I have seen gloss plastic paint (Home Depot), but not sure how good it would look...
