Only Buy Chrome Vanadium, regardless of brand and HF has plenty Cr-Vn hand tools and I would trust them anywhere. However I do carry a Snap-On 3/8" socket to be sure.
I replaced my broken factory antenna with the $14 one from WalMart and like stated, it works (compared to not) but it could be better. However I will say that the WalMart antenna fit in the curved hole on the fender really well. It was a pain to fish the new wire.
So it wasn't a U-Joint? I am sure they needed the dose of grease anyways. I figured you would have pulled the TC and get the Gear reduction knocked out. Best of luck.
