Having a few issues with the factory clock, when the cigarette lighter is pressed the clock dies or dims, it will then flicker or stay off till the vehicle is restarted then randomly come back on. Ive checked lighter fuse and cleaned the contact points, any other ideas?

My Original 1983 FJ45 tank was rusted out, so I purchased an hj47 tank, only issue is my pickup and return from the old tank was completely rusted through, is there an easy way to install a return line on the new tank as it only has a pickup, thanks
