Nolen, if those wires you cut out are going in the trash, can I send you some coin to mail them to me? Always enjoy your build threads. Thanks for the motivation to work on my own '78 project!

I highly recommend you look closely at your injector harness, and make sure it's tied up correctly at the factory tie points. My '95 80-series wore through the insulation of an injector ground wire, which then turned on injector #5 every time it shorted against the bracket nearby. I ended up...
Have you tried the dry ice method? It works very well for factory sound insulation, but I don't know if it works the same with bedliner material. It's definitely less labor intensive.
That blue wire originally went to a condenser/choke of some sort. These original regulators were probably mechanical and made all kinds of radio noise. I'd guess that the electronics inside the modern versions have been improved enough it's no longer necessary. @Engineer8000 would know way...
1965 tanks are under the seat? You should be able to gravity siphon nearly all of it into fuel cans on the ground. I'll send you a primer bulb and some fuel line if you need it.

I can 100% tell you do not buy the Grom Vline. Buggy, inconsistent garbage. They strung me along with claims of being able to fix all the issues for long enough to get past the refund period, and now won't respond to my emails.
I'm leaning towards the Teyes CC3 as my next replacement.
Mattressking, what's your favorite brew for ultrasonic on aluminum? I have a similar size unit, and I haven't found any cleaners that will leave aluminum that shiny, most will dull the finish.
