Does someone know what the size is for that union that goes from the oil pump tube to the underside of the block? Into the block is 12mm x 1.25, but sure what the tube compression side is, 14mm? 17mm? And would it be available at the local ACE? Been trying to get ahold of ToyotaMatt, I know...
In case anyone has thought of trying this.......Had a broken wire right at the switch housing so instead of buying a new switch, dug all of the rubbery stuff out very carefully, drilled the side of the broken wire, unsoldered the connection and pulled out the wire and insulation, threaded wire...
So have tore down my engine to long block and found this random piece, a small piece of spring steel that came off of......no idea. The answer may present itself when I go put everything back on my new long block but I am not counting on that!
I have both front fenders, both front doors and left rear door for sale on eBay, okay shape. enclosed is a link to one auction, see my other auctions. Make me an offer, mention that you saw it here. Want to get rid of these before the snow flies...
Happy Thanksgiving everyone,
After combing the forum threads for a couple of days here is my question. I need to replace my coil...can I use one with an internal resistor and jettison the "igniter". I have a 1986 FJ60. I have looked at schematics, read a number of threads having to do with...
Just wanted to thank everyone on the forum for all the help over the past few years. My '86 FJ60 rebuild is basically done (a few interior cosmetic things still left and the rocker trim). Thanks to Mark W, Jim C, Beno, Joe E for all those reference pictures!, spikestrip, and many others. I am...
Just got some custom made and VERY happy with them, the ride, the service etc.....and the spec , I was told, was that the rear right has 1/2" less arc than the rear left. And they have made a LOT of LC springs.
My ride is slightly off, noticeable as I sit in my seat......my FJ is all stock.
Well, it just keeps going....I am so close, took the whole hvac system out, re-foam, replace heater core and tubes and I am poking around...$%#@$%....has anyone dealt with this issue? Of course it is the side near the firewall so I can't get to it from the wiper motor opening. Are these things...
Ok, so after 8 plus years I am getting very close to starting the truck....but, I have a few loose ends and "what is it?" things. Picture one, a clamp on the top of the valve cover for...? Pic 2, near back of motor, intake manifold, a vac hose goes there...? Pic 3, there is a manifold temp...
A while back (more time than I wish to think about) I posted about a problem with the drivetrain alignment. Re-cap, I have a 86 FJ60 with an earlier frame, 2F motor, 3F bellhousing, new 5 speed to replace the 4. I finally replaced the trans crossmember with the later one, welded in new...
Ok, so I am finally getting around to mounting the proper cross-member (late '80s) on my early '80s frame, I have the brackets that I need to weld on, etc. (It is an '86 fj60) A proper tranny mount, all good to go...but I do have two questions, what is the distance between the front edge of the...
PLEASE SEE POST #24....JUST A FEW LAST MINUTE QUESTIONS...
Something always pops up that you never thought would be a problem. I am just about done with my multi-year resto on my 1986 FJ60, last on the road about 2002. I replaced the frame with a '83 or '84 frame, had it sandblasted etc...
Looking to rebuild my carb and don't feel like i have the time, also don't want to just take it to my local auto parts store. So much other work to do on my re-assembly this is better left to a pro.
I have until TG to get this back on the road....
4 Speed gearbox out of my 1986 FJ60. I pulled this out last year and put a 5 speed in. Works fine, still pretty tight. NAME YOUR PRICE. I am located near Oyster Bay NY, north shore of Long Island.
Just swapped out my four speed for a five on my '87 FJ60. This is gearbox only, no bell housing, no TC. Includes shifter and knob if needed. Fine shape, no noise, no issues, not rebuilt, 160,000 miles. Name your price.
Ok, So I dissasembled the TC last weekend, no problem, going to mount rebuilt 5 speed. Front companion flange removed, Front output shaft - tapped out of old bearing mounted in front side of split case, oil seal removed, this crazy looking locking washer (the kind that has three outside tabs...
