Wow, thanks for all the responses!
This is NOT a truck I care about making “right”. It’s a mildly built wheeler that’s been rolled twice. The body is covered with dents, rust and spray paint and nothing is straight. I can barely get soft doors on it…
If a dash replacement is the only option I...
Does anyone make a weld in predrilled/cut dash panel (like factory) to repair this mess? I can weld in sheet metal and modify as needed, but a pre drilled option sure would save a lot of time!
A PO cut this section out and had an aluminum gauge panel in there. I’m moving the gauges to the...
Would love to know what you guys decide. I have a new build to “shake down” and my 40 might be in together-enough-to-bounce-around-30-minutes-from-home-condition.
Yea, I actually think the ammo can may be the best option. I had gotten a new one from harbor freight when I had my old seats. It’s tiny though. Need to find a bigger one now that I’ve got more space.
All the Jeep consoles are too long to fit behind by rear shifters and I’m not real excited...
Here are the seats, with some old seat covers, mounted in the truck. Super comfy and they are about the same size as the Toyota buckets that were in there.
They leave me about 8” between seats so I *think* I’ll be able to get some kind of center console in here.
Oh boy! That’s been awhile. I followed most of the advice in this thread:

Not sure I would do it again. The linseed oil holds dirt, but I also haven’t washed the truck since I did the treatment. BUT I’ve...
I’ve only gotten the passenger seat in. It was pretty easy. Just adapted it to some Toyota sliders.
The seats are sweet. Drivers seat has about 5 different mechanical adjustments and the seats are nice and small. I’m tall and thin so distance between back of seat, and seat bottom height were...
I’m sure she’ll be available one day…. However this is my favorite body style Toyota so maybe not.
I did just bring this home….
Like I needed another impractical vehicle. We’ll see what tolerance my wife has for impracticality. As long as she doesn’t see all my vehicles she tends to...
I’ve done some stuff, but I didn’t take any pictures of any of it.
Installed a new rear main seal. The old one fell out when I pulled the transmission. No wonder it was leaking…
Replaced the clutch and pressure plate.
Installed a W56 transmission mated to a dual case setup with 4.7 gears in...
Maybe it’s still good then.
I finally got back behind the carb and looked around. The arm for the vacuum secondary diaphragm had popped off the linkage and it’s also missing a return spring. Maybe that’s my issue! I’ll get those two items addresses and see what happens.
Dealing with an issue...
Hello,
Can anyone point me towards a source for the vacuum diaphragm that operates the secondaries on a 20r Carb? I'm having a really hard time finding one.
If no source exists is there a way to repair these old diaphragms? I have a sneaking suspicion that mine failed recently. Have not...
Hi guys,
I’m currently installing a w56 transmission in my 1980. How does the clutch form mount on the pivot? Here is the style fork I have (off my old g52 and the same fork that came with my w56a).
Does that clip fit over the pivot ball so it is physically retained? Or does the pivot just...
