I'm replacing my 11 year old, cracked tires with new ones (35" BFG KM3) and I'm hoping to also replace my current 15"x8" rims with the stock/OEM rims with the old-school hub caps.

Hadn't occurred to me that a 35" tire on a 15x5.5 wide rim may not be a good idea? (FJ40...
I just finished installing a FJ60 rear-end, FJ60 springs (SOA) and a anti-wrap bar on my 67' with 35"s and a Y-Link up front. With the help of my father in law, cycled the suspension with his forklift, which also helped confirm brake line length, and where I can't fit the shocks.... but I would...
Hi, my name is William (Will) Preach, 36 yrs old this month. I've been building a 1967 FJ40 for around 10 yrs.
As of this last week, it's running again with a fresh EFI install, however it won't be trail worthy for some time (Parking brake, transfer case linkage, other).

(If possible) - What is the appropriate way to reach out, or contact MUD members in a particular community? I live in a (can't say small anymore) town north of LA and I would love to know how many or who are MUD members in the Santa Clarita (and surrounding areas). I've only found one...
I just finished (Mar 19') installing a FiTech (Base model 400 hp) model onto a 70's Chevy 350 in my 40. Started right up, been driving it as much as I can without a single issue (So far). I'm very in-experienced at electrical, so if I can do it, anyone can. PM me in you would like more info...
Finished installing my new fuel system (Aeromotive in-tank pump, inline filter, hoses, heat shield, FiTech Fuel injection), re-enforced the fuel tank skid plate, new battery disconnect and fixed some tail light issues! Finally... (after months) back on the road for summer!
Does anyone recall the member that was refurbishing OEM FJ40 Steering Wheels? (Repairing cracks, fading, etc). I searched the FAQS, messages, conversations and a few other locations but was unsuccessful. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

You serious? I thought I was looking at the official (Post penalty) results. The GPS/Tracker would have DQ'd them. WTH. I'll check the official results again.
Update* - Yep, they DNF'd them. Not a cool move at all.
Awesome news! I missed it this year due to work :crybaby::bang:. Glad to hear the news.
You said it... I think its really the food I might miss the most.
Do you know of or heard about the vintage class FJ40 that finished? Only one in the class that made it. V911
Both my OEM headlights are cracked, so during my rewire I'm opting to upgrade a little.
As most of you are aware, there are multiple options to choose from, however the question I have is how our most customers/owners mounting these newer 7" diameter aftermarket headlight units into the 6.5"...
J Mack, thank you for taking the time to explain that so well, its appreciated and helps.
Lil'John, thank you as well. I was hoping to stick with the same shock manufacturer if possible, which why I was shooting for the 2.0 Smoothies by KING. Waiting on some quotes for both standard shocks and...
I'm confident the 60 leafs I installed will match well with the weight (listed above). I know shocks don't carry weight :cautious:. My second post was specifically in reference to Downey's concern for an 'empty bed', not the shock selection.
Is there a better explanation of the differences...
Thanks Downey. (Btw your new tank is being installed in the next week or so. The Centroid sender just showed up) -
I figured with the auxillary tank in the rear (now my only/primary tank), added weight of a family cage, roof rack, spare tire & bumper, two bodies, extra fuel and tools the back...
