Sorry, I don't have carb jet advise for you...but since you live in the Denver area, you might want to consider getting collector plates. Unless the laws have changed, you won't have to get another emissions test as long as you own the vehicle.
Yep, that's the biggest reason I do all my own oil changes.
I like the nut idea but if you do it yourself...and do it right, there's really no reason for it.
Thanks for the info. I'm planning on that upgrade later. But since my existing calipers need work now, I figure that I might as well upgrade.
What did you use to trim the shields?
Thanks Twisty.
The Part Numbers do match so I'm going to order the parts. I'll update on the wheels, and if they don't work, I'll have an excuse to upgrade there too. :D
One of the calipers on my '86 4Runner decided to give up the ghost and needs a re-build. I'm considering upgrading to the '88-'92 V6 Calipers. I've read this post, V6 Calipers on a '90 4Runner , which discusses the upgrade on a '90. Since my truck is an '86, I have a few questions:

More often than not, places like Discount Tire or Big-O (If you have those near by) will remove the locking lug nuts and put the oem's on for free. They want you as a future customer and have been very accommodating to me.
I'd just buy the replacement lug nuts and have Discount do it for me...
First the good news...
Yesterday, I pick up a very nice 2000 UZJ100. 96K miles with the 90K service done. Runs & drives perfect for only $15.5K.
Now for the bad...
Last night after enjoying dinner at a friends house, we load up the family and it will not start. It cranks like it...
Hello All,
I'm considering looking at a 1998 LC with around 178K miles. Cost will be around $12K US.
1. Does anyone here have a UZJ with that many miles? My FJ80 has that many but I don't know of any history of the V8 with high milage.
2. Is 12K too much for this truck if it's in...
Thanks for the good suggestion Nick. I got an email earlier from a fellow Cruiser Head. He towed his 40 on a Penske trailer with 31s 3000 miles with no problems. When I get the trailer next week, the first think I'll do is put the 4R on it and evaluate the situation.
Thnaks again, Ken
Hello All,
Next weekend, I will be embarking on my move from Austin to Denver. I've rented a Penske car trailer to haul a 1990 4Runner. It will be towed behind their largest truck.
The 4Runner has 31" tires and the entire truck is in very nice shape. The problem is that Penske rates...
Thanks for all the replies guys. The trip sounds way to risky to me. I'll either sell the pig or rent the trailer. My only concern with the trailer is they are pretty big, if I recall. It may not be that much of a better solution that the flat tow.
FJ55 with a '92 FJ80
Does anyone have thoughts on towing a Pig with a 3fe powered 80? The brakes ont the 80 will be fine. The Pig has a built in "Y" shaped tow bar that is permanently attached to the front bumper. The trip will be from Austin to Denver.

Thanks for your input guys. Just bought an '86 with a 5spd.
It's been in TX it's entire life, has no rust, working a/c, 170K & cheap. This will by my 3rd one and am glad to have one in the stables again.
Hello everyone,
I've previeously owned 2 1st generation 4Runners. One had the 22RE & the other had the 3.0L but both had 5spd manual transmissions. I'm planning on looking at an 86 with the 22RE/auto trans. I've never driven one. Are they much slower than the 5spd version? Is the gas...
