Correct Alternator for my HJ61 24 volt?

As long as you can fit the alternator under the hood and oil lines fit the vacuum pump there is no need for concern... About the amperage of alternator, if it really is 50amp model then it's most likely from dyno or something similar, hj/fj came only with 30 amp or 40 amp alternator depending on...

    12ht tick tick noise

Whether the oil is too thin or thick depends on the viscosity of the oil, not whether it is synthetic or not. I run 5-50w mobil 1 rally formula on my 12ht and have done so succesfully for past 7 years with no problems and so have others. Now about the ticking noise, I believe it's something...

Cut & weld pto drive shafts

Been there, done that. I had to shorten my pto shaft and it worked out just fine. The trick is to find a pipe that fits on top of the pto shaft and the shorten the pto shaft and then use the pipe to join the two pieces of pto shaft... That way your shaft remains straight and true...

    Diesel mechanic...

Those engines require very little work all in all, keep oil fresh and filters clean and it will run for years. Also theyre rather simple machines so with the help of fsm and some tools there isnt anything you cant do by yourself.

    12HT air in fuel system?

Maybe it's starving, not getting air... Also there is a chance that the fuel pick up tubes in the tank itself are letting air in, so feel free to replace them and while doing that check the whole fuel line from tank to pump...

    12HT air in fuel system?

Check the primer pump, it's the most likely culprit.
