Ok so the funny thing is that interior dome lights are working as they should dimming and all.
The sliders were installed by me, and they have been on for at least 2.5 years - I connected the existing step light wiring to the waterproof LED lights installed...
I put the fuse back in during the last oil change to see if there is any change.
Well unfortunately the problem persists.
Does anyone have any idea where the dimmer or the timer for the dimmer is? or maybe a relay that controls how long the step lights stay on? or any other ideas how to remedy...
For now I pulled the fuse #54 under the hood and the lights are off.
Does anybody know where the dimmer for these lights is located? - I wonder if that is what's wrong with them staying on

So my wife took the LX570 for running some errands and this everything I noticed that the step lights are still on with the vehicle closed and locked.
Tried to take it for a spin and see if it helps, but after parking it the problem persists.

I bet it was a wrong fluid since both trucks were serviced by Pep Boys and the result is identical in both cases.
No reason to beat yourself up - s*** happens... live and learn not to trust places that should stick to oil changes on basic rides.
I understand your geographical dilemma, but just like mentioned above it's not that difficult to do a proper trans fluid change with the wealth of knowledge here.
Hopefully it's not too late for the 200 #2. My advice would be to order WS trans fluid from toyota and change it.

Pepboys is not the place I would imagine my 200 series being serviced at... transmission wise.
What was the point of failure in the 200 #1?
Was it ever determined?
Also what kind of trans fluid was used by Pepboys??
I placed an extra fairlead in between the bumper skin and the winch mount receiver and managed to be almost perfectly as needed.
I went with the Metaltech4x4 sliders as I had a set on my old 100 series and found them to be super beefy - on the 200 series I incorporated the light illumination...
