too much of a good thing IMO! You would need oil coolers, charge cooler, etc. The l92 makes a mountain of torque compared to the LS3, which I felt was a little peaky. But yes, an LSA would be fun.
I am running 35x10.50 Super Swamper SSR on 15" wheels, 4.10 gears. Basic ARB/Slider/rear Bumper set-up. I will snap some video. With fj60 case it will do one hell of a burn-out.

I have a used take-out from a 96. Complete engine with accesories. Only 91,000 miles. Ran perfectly when taken out two months ago. PM me if interested. $1000.00. Includes transmission. Engine in Jackson Hole. Shipping possible-Winslow
You know when that happened to me, I zip tied it back together as a temporary fix. It wasn't until some years later that I remembered it was zip- tied!!! You might be happy with this too. - Winslow
I have a hannibal RTT. I have had it for about five years. I have found that it is prone to zipper failure and Hannibal support is basically non-existant. It has always kept me dry and I love sleeping up there, but I would not buy one again. I think EZ awn might be better. ARB is supposed to...
I ended up Buying a 6.0 Vortec LQ4 today. Only 31,000 miles on it ( so they say). But, it comes with a modified factory ECU, harness and PCM with harness. Only $2700.00 and tuned for 340hp!!! For the transmission I think I am going to pull the trigger on a brand new 4l65. I am ditching the...
I am getting ready for this job myself. As I read above, my understanding is:
1)Wire Tach out from ECU to Negative Coil Wire
2)Wire original A/C clutch wire to ECU A/C demand
3)run A/C request from ECU to GM Compressor
4)Install adapter on back on GM Compressor
5)Run original hoses...
I'm going to look into the 6.0 as well. Gotta have torque! Both the 5.3 and 6.0 look like they run on lower octane fuel as well. Not bad for mexico trips and such. Thanks, Winslow
Does the LS1 when combined with the 4L60 fit into the engine bay OK? I have read about problems with the manifolds hitting the frame rail on some of the vortec engines. It sounds like downey has a solution for the front driveshaft issue. I have about 3" of lift and am optimistic the oil pan...
My 62 is due for a repower in the next six months and I am looking into engines. My last 60 had a ramjet 350 and NV4500. For my 62 I am looking at either a LS1 or a 5.3 high-output(LM4). Either motor will be mated to a 4L65 and my stock split case. Is the torque curve of the LS1 appropriate...
Small World! I am going through the same thing w/ my 1990 62. I have 4.88s and a Powertrax rear locker. I get about 1/4 turn in the DS or 90 degrees. It makes a big noise when shifting from D to R or vice versa. It also sounds bad on full throttle upshift and when going from coast to power...
