    EFI 15 amp fuse blowing

Problem solved! :) The plastic clips on the frame, that holds the wiring harness above the front driveshaft, were broken and allowing the harness to rub on the driveshaft. Three wires, red/yellow, orange. and blue were exposed. Some waterproof connectors, new wire loom, and zip ties fixed the...

    EFI 15 amp fuse blowing

Thank you for posting this! I'll be working again on my girlfriends 95 tomorrow. I downloaded the 96 EWD and have been studying the wiring diagrams. I've learned a lot in the past week. Though one part still has me stumped... The vehicle will drive fine for 10 miles or so before blowing the 15...

    EFI 15 amp fuse blowing

Thank you for your input! You and a handful of other Mudders always peak my interest. I spent the day in another Cruiserhead's shop and here's what we found/did. Replaced the fuel pump relay with OEM. Replaced EFI relay with OEM Inspected the wiring harness where it was touching the ECR tube...

    EFI 15 amp fuse blowing

I thought a worn/about to die fuel pump would draw more amps... I could me wrong.

    EFI 15 amp fuse blowing

Thanks for the input! There's been a Check engine light on for a while, regarding an O2 sensor... I'll check again. I forgot to do that. Yes, once the vehicle comes to operating temp, the fuse blowing is more frequent. This is why I thought the fuel pump was worn out and drawing more amps...

    EFI 15 amp fuse blowing

I've researched a lot and watched many Youtube videos... I'm still at a loss and need some advice. Thank you in advance! The EFI 15 amp fuse keeps blowing on my girlfriends 1995 80. The Cruiser will travel 10 to 12 miles when cold, then the fuse blows. It then blows a fuse every .5 to 1 mile...

Left rear turn signal voltage problem

Thanks for the input Bilt4me and Jonheld. I cleaned up the ground with 60 grit and replaced the bolt with stainless. Still have the same problem. There's enough voltage to lightly illuminate an LED, but not a 1156. Guess I'll start with the ID2 connector and check for 12 volts and work my way...

Left rear turn signal voltage problem

My left rear turn signal quit working. After installing a new turn signal bulb, new harness, and new flasher relay... I have fluctuating voltage at the socket. I get 12 volts, then the voltage drops to 3 t0 5 volts for a few cycles, then 12 volts again for a cycle or two. This happens when the...

    Fridge question

I'm going to install a 58 quart fridge with a sliding rack on my drawer system in my 1997 80 this week. What is the preferred side to mount, driver or passenger? The lid will open from eaither side, so that's not an issue. I go back and forth, and can't decide. I see good reasons for both, and...

Running your wiring through your snorkel

Here's my snorkel wiring. I couldn't bring myself to drill a hole in the roof, so went the snorkel route. I used a 1/2" snap in bushing on the snorkel for a clean look. Just drill a 1/2" hole and snap the bushing in place. There's room for four - 14 gauge wires to pass through the bushing. I...

Snorkel - Did you have to clearance the inner fender?

I installed my Ebay snorkel three weeks ago. The inner fender wasn't a problem. Getting nuts started on the rear bolts was the biggest issue.

    1FZ-FE head rebuild price

Thanks guys! I appreciate the replies. $1192 seemed high to me... but there's not much I can do about it now. I'll be looking for another machine shop in the future. Thanks again!
