i've had a similar problem in the past and i was getting too much fuel. i had to replace the float needle and seat. how's your fuel level in the sight glass on the carb?
do you know the mileage? I'd first check the compression and if it turns out ok. just put it in and run it. or just have it rebuilt before you install it. if i had the money i'd have it rebuilt before i put it in. otherwise run it.
sometimes with mine i'll just have to bump the fuse a bit and they'll come on. i keep the cover off for easy access. or try cleaning the contacts where the fuse connects. my .02
My 2f has recently started smoking, burning oil, on deceleration. Compression numbers are around 125 on all cylinders. pcv is fairly new. what's next? valve seals?
It does not smoke on acceleration. just if you rev it and let off it will and when letting off completely when slowing...
Just finished this rack up. i thought i'd let you all critique it. it's made to unbolt from the windshield and unbolt from the rear light covers. i'm not sure of the exact weight but it isn't much over 100 lbs i'd say. i can easily lift it myself. made out of 3/4" emt conduit and...
i checked to have my wheels powder coated and they said they would strip it themselves, BUT it was going to cost $75 per wheel to be stripped and powder coated. which i thought was pretty high. so i think i will end up doing mine myself.

have you tried turning it both directions? can you feel any sucking or pressure if you cover the tube with your finger?
also, it does take a while to get the oil to get up there. at least a couple minutes of turning the pump with a drill.
