Shipping to MT - Canadian Seeking Help

Lots of places will receive your goods in Sweetgrass… Montana Shipping Outlet, At the Border Storage, Montana Mailbox. Ive used all three. There is also a service called DYK Post that will pickup your items from Montana Mailbox and bring them up to one of their various their depots. Ive...

    Spring over

It hurts because it's true. I did SO on a BJ60 and BJ74. Never on a SWB 70. I put 100's of Thousands of KM's driving all around North America like that. Lesson learned from Spring Overs. 1). Springs should definitely be Over the axles. 2) those springs should never be leaf springs... They...

    H55 shifter removal - how?

As a physicist I say it is a class 2 lever that does work while minimizing entropy. As a meta-physicist, I say it works by bringing order where once there was chaos. you put it over the gear shift retainer. you push down. you turn it. you remove the gear shift. you move forward with life.

    H55 shifter removal - how?

I got one of these a few years ago. My quality of life has improved dramatically as a result. https://www.cityracerllc.com/collections/land-cruiser-70-series/products/oem-gear-shift-lever-removal-tool-for-any-toyota

    3D scan/model of dash 61/62 dash bezel

Searching for anyone that is sharing a 3D scan or 3D model of the center control/dash insert for a 61/62. I have my own 3D printer and am looking to print a new dash insert for my personal collection of switches and such. But I am also lazy and don't want to do the hardwork of modeling the...

    Auto alternatives for the 13Bt

I have this fantasy of swappioig a modern ZF8HP behind a 13B-T. Those 8HP’s are the go to choice for modern auto swaps. Several aftermarket ecu’s and tuners are available to make them work stand alone. Trivia… that is the transmission in the new Supra.

    Renting out J77

I also tested the waters with Turo, and not only do they not take anything without a VIN, they don't take anything over a certain number of KM,s and nothing over a certain age. That's three strikes for me. Yet, when I go searching deep in Turo, I did discover a vintage FJ60 for rent in one...

    13BT vs 3F vs 1FZ

13BT - My 2nd favourite all time engine. a Heavenly match for a SWB 70 series. Excellence, incarnate. 3F. Write your suicide note in advance. You'll thank me by 3rd gear. Now that I think it through, you should probably just go ahead and thank me ahead of time in the note. 1FZ. As...

Builds Peter's Ultimate Expo Land Cruiser Build Thread

But before I can put cab's and campers on, I have some essential drivetrain/chassis mods to attend to, even before I decide on how much I need to shorten the frame.. This donor chassis has the 5.9HO Cummins, G56 6 speed manual (the one with the 6.5:1 1st gear), and an NP271HD Transfer Case...

Builds Peter's Ultimate Expo Land Cruiser Build Thread

OK Friends, another summer has drifted by. I purged my yard of 5 Land Cruiser pojects that I was never going to get to, as well as 2 other cars. I moved the donor 2005 Ram 2500 chassis into my shop, and put on on the hoist where it is in the way of any other projet. I removed the crew cab...

    BJ73 bumper

I built this bumper out of 6061 Aluminum. It's holds a winch. It uses factory tow points bolted through the frame horns. It follows the body lines. It has a subtle hoop that does not disturb illumination of air going to the rad. It leaves lots of clearance for the front tires to drive up...

Where to buy 1VD in Canada?

Is anyone importing complete 1VD-FTE (single or twin turbo) engines for swaps? Is there a recommended source from which to import complete engines, perhaps from Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Easter Island, or Liechtenstein? I want to replace the awesome, but old, frail, rare, and...

Wanted  Calgary: 70 series tub for project

Half-heartedly searching for a 70 series tub for a project. I have a 79 Series cab ready to go, but then I got a dog, and now I need a bigger cab (like a 70 series) to fit fido, or to build a kennel behind the 79 cab. Do you got something interensting that is salvagable? Maybe even a 74...

Importing 20 year old 70 series Land Cruisers

Trick is to be a Canadian (a North North American?). Import them when they are 15 years old. Drive them for a Decade then sell them to a South North America for a huge profit. 2008 VDJ76’s are importable this year.

    Fender Mounted Mirrors?

I, for one, absolutely LOVE the fender mirrors, and find them far superior to the door mounted mirrors. With both fender mirrors in field of view out the front windshield, I find that I have superior situational awareness about traffic around me. I can simultaneously see what is in front of me...

Can you safely flat tow an HJZ73?

To be fair, where there is a differential, one needs a locker. The 80 series was the first Land Cruiser in history to have THREE differentials. Quite the innovation, to be sure. But now you need three lockers, instead of two. All my Land Cruisers are proudly 'Double Locked' only.

Can you safely flat tow an HJZ73?

agreed on the driveshaft. It's important to note that the manual recommends transmission in N, but Transfer case in H2. My instinct has historically to put the transfer case in N so that the gears are not spinning. However, leaving the transfer has in H2 would have the effect of spinning all...

Builds Peter's Ultimate Expo Land Cruiser Build Thread

OK Folks. It's been 2,878 days since I've updated this thread. The dream is still alive. I got a bit side tracked. I decided that my crappy garage was not sufficient workshop in which to build this project. So, I spent 5 years building the ultimate dream workshop. I call it Xanatorium. When...

SOLD SALE PENDING: Boston area: '06 Cruiser - black/grey, 226k miles, 8.5 yrs owned

I've been shopping for LX470's here in Canada, and have developed a bit of a sense of the market value. The Kelley Blue Book values are actually pretty close to actual asking prices I've seen. KBB.ca says a 2007 LX470 in 'Excellent' condition with 300,000 kms, (yours has 361, but KBB only goes...
