I always just swap my tanks if I think im getting low before the weekend so I dont have to worry about it.
Here in Ohio my local supplier is good to me 100 bucks for a three year tank lease and 20 dollar fill-ups each time after that.
The O/A tanks i got for a set for $160 for three...
My grandfather, til the day he died had shrapnel in his eyes because some old cast peice he was welding blew up in his face.....its not common, but I wouldnt like to find out!
Ask any good welder about welding on cast....;)
lol I know what an output shaft is, just didnt know the differences between and cruisers and mini truck!
I like the sound of a Marlin G52 souped up because I still use the rig as a partial daily driver.
Why? The 8274 is fast enough to break parts as is. I dont need any help in that department! Seriously with around 50/ft min. loaded why would you need something faster? I mean that video of his just looks crazy!
You can do it but it is extremely hard and can blow up in your face if not done correctly. You need to pre-heat, weld with a arc or TIG (with no filler) and then heat it up a 2nd time ASAP after ewlding then wrap it up in insulation for cool down.
I am an ESAB man myself, many good chopper builders use it and worldwide its more popular than Miller. Not saying Miller isnt a good unit but the ESAB doesnt get the respect the Miller does only cause its not blue!
I have used ESAB migmaster 250 and love it. I think it runs a smoother arc on 220 single phase than a millermatic 250 or 251 single phase. For a top notch weld quality though three-phase has it IMO.
Mostly common sense. When welding alone (which isnt a good idea) stop every 20 seconds (pretty easy to do) and look around and check for slag fires. Also use welding blankets when available. Of course always have good ventilation when welding. Some of your gases are heavier than air and when say...
A TIG welder can produce (with the right weldor) one of the strongest welds available @ 70,000 PSI tensile. You can do that with a MIG but it is much harder IMO.
I would love to have a machine like that. A nice inverter squarewave TIG machine like that is great for welding. It is very hard, but being proficent at TIG is I think much better than MIG. A good TIG welder can weld all your common metals. With MIG you can only do steel, stainless and aluminum...
thanks, i have no idea with regards to a cruiser output shaft. Thanks for the info. The L43 is a better choice than my G 52 for crawling tho? I called marlin and they said they could make the G 52 a very tight tranny.... which is what i want along with good crawling ability.
also what aboot your welding skills? Chromo is a bia to weld good. Also for the windsheld pillars put aboot a 30 degree angle on each one like so / \ that will help much, triangles are the name of the game, sqaures just fold flat!
Hey guys I now own a 1985 Hilux with a 5speed and a 22R. I would like to update the engine with a 22RE fuel delievery system to it. The transmission is what im wondering aboot right now though.
The tranny seems to feel like a slushbucket. I hear many guys say that even a good rebuild...
How many miles on the ticker and more info on the ranger overdrive? Have extra parts? Lockers or limited slip? Got any pics of the underside and of the interor?
a dent. A small dent. I am sorry about that. There is a small dent on the tub. BUYERS BEWARE!
seriously, if you saw this tub (especially if you lived on the East Coast) this thing is perfect. You come out here to the East Coast and try and find a ORIGINAL (not re-done) tub of this quality...
