Invest in a multi-meter,(if you dont have one !) will be glad you did. Get a digital one. I'm not good with wire either but use of the continuity feature and voltage output will increase your ability to trouble shoot electrical probs with your Cruiser 10 fold. Good luck.
Sorry Match....did...
It's always nice when we can blame things on the PO...this time it was the CO..me. Dizzy wasn't getting enough vacuum to make it work right. Hooked er up to a different vac source and now I'm good to go. By the way......it was the Retard that wasn't working....go figure.
My 72 F runs like a champ as long as you don't want it to go down the road ! When you put in gear and take off she bogs down. Timing is dead on. I'm running an electronic dizzy out of a 60. When the motor accelerates the timing ball moves downward (advance) which makes me think the advance is...
:grinpimp:I'll say it before someone else does.............This post is worthless without pictures !!
My bad....didn't scroll down and see the pics.
If you budget 7k you'll probably spend 12k.....it's a snow balling addiction ! It will suck you under into the abyss....your family will...
Wouldn't mind staying stock, the stock manifold is cracked and several of the bolt holes are broken off. All of the Toyota stock replacements I've looked at
were higher than an after market header.
Need to put a header on the 72 1F in my Pig. Not sure which one to get. I'm not a hardcore off roader, don't need a Downey. Can someone recommend another reasonably priced brand ? Thanks !!! :grinpimp::grinpimp:
Am trailering my 40 (with the hard top off) to the Alpine Loop next week and was looking for ideas to cover it up while in transit. Am going to remove the bikini and lay the windshield down. Does anyone make a fitted top for this configuration ?? Perhaps Wal Mart blue tarp special ??
Thought the manifolds were all one unit. Intake is probably OK, but exhaust is original and cracked, etc. Headers sounds good, what brand do you have ?
Hard to tell from this pic, but mine has 4 vertical supports on each side that are welded to 1/4" x 1/2" metal strips which are bolted through the gutters. Floor of the rack is treated lumber. PO did this, but it's very sturdy and the gutters seem to holding up well.
