I love my 96 LX450 daily driver, I find it a complete joy to drive. That being said, while traveling last week I lucked into the 2017 Nissan Armada as a rental car for the week and have to say I am impressed.
I was very suprised that it drove like my truck which got me researching it...
Also, Dry ICE (available at most super markets) will cool down the car for a good bit of time pretty effectively when paired with a fan for circulation.
I'm in Jax and right on 95 and have my old compressor (works but squeaks) and a new evaporator if you are coming by. You are welcome to them. A suggestion is to check your Freon level, if it is too full it won't work.
So here's the current story. Apparently there has been a fleet tracker installed on this vehicle from a previous life. It was a bit of a hack job. The dealer has theorized that the unit has died or shorted and is causing the problem. They do not want to try to fix as they do not know exactly...
So according to the dealer two of the computers are shorted out and have resulted in the Alternator not charging while on the car but does in a bench test. Total cost to repair is ~$4k with $2900 in parts.
Of course they suggested that she just buy a new LX. Any thoughts guys?
