Recently removed the tank from my FJ-60 for washout and leak check. Ready to re-install and need new felt for tank straps, but it is discontinued. Any recs on where to find or what to use instead? Thanks in advance!
Well, there's good news and bad news....
Good news is, I got gas to the carb and it starts and runs beautifully.
Bad news is, I have no idea what I did.
I replaced the pump and still had no gas coming up to the carb. So I thought, I wonder if I switched the inlet and return lines...So I...
Just can't figure this thing out. Replaced the pump (I know, I know, I always do things backwards, just a small stimulus package to the local Toyota Parts department) drained the tank from the inlet line disconnected from the tank (drained fine) reconnected all the lines, put fresh gas back...
Clarification on "interestingly": I blew a short blast of air thru the return line at the tank with the filler cap on and gas started pouring out the inlet hose.
Yes, it's a 60, and yes I was trying to blow air through the inlet just before it attaches to the filter under the hood, so the pump was far removed from the equation. No air would go...
I since have replaced the rubber lines at the tank, and I couldn't blow back from that point either...
I am trying to blow compressed air (70-80 psi) back through the fuel inlet line from toward the tank (filter off) and am unable to. Does anyone know if there is a check valve that prevents backflow, or do I have a serious obstruction in the line?
Thanks! Still can't get fuel upto the carb...
Yes, there is an automatic choke on the Weber, and that was a thought I had. I did not rebuild any of the auto choke assembly in the rebuild. All the linkage appears to be connected correctly...maybe the assembly is faulty.
Mike: My next move is going to be replace fuel lines/filter, drain...

Truck has been in fine running order, but has not been run in over a year. Got in, wouldn't start, but would with starter fluid, so I figured carb must be gunked up. Double checked to make sure fuel was coming from fuel line upon turning it over, and it was and appeared...
