    Sounds pretty straight forward. I am not worried about wear with the locking hubs. So my real question was just about overall strength. Looks like Longs are the way to go.

    Has anyone used a Dana 44 axle set on the front of their LC? I saw this setup at WFO, http://www.wfoconcepts.com/Steering/Toyota/Yukon.html With selectable hubs and part time 4WD in my 60, it looks like this could be a good option compared to Longs. Open to all feedback.

    High pinion FJ80 third member in a FJ60?

    Thanks. That confirms what I thought. Is it worth finding an FJ80 front axle to get the HP. I have heard conflicting info one which is stronger, the 60 or the 80 front. Seems like the 60 has the stronger ring and pinion, but the 80 will give more clearance and better front driveshaft angle.

    Do you still have the axle? Is this an 8" or 9.5" third member? Are you interested in making a package deal on this an your trans/tc? I'm interested, but I would need to figure out how to get it to Vegas.

    Gary, thanks for the advice. Your 45 on an 80 frame is the coolest LC I have ever seen. Just curious, what makes the 1fz swap more expensive? I found an engine, trans, and tc for less than 2k. Seems like this swap would be straight forward but I look forward to your input.
