Need some opinions on my arb locker

It is doable but they are a bitch to turn, they do not disengage when turning the wheel. My suggestion put the ARB in the front or save you money for another ARB.

    Epoxy Primer

Epoxy primer seals the metal you will only "need" one good coat for that. When I shot mine I put 2 coats on giving it time to flash ( about 20 minutes) before the second coat no sanding needed. Later when you shoot your high base primer you will have to sand but a little scuffing with 320 will...

    Wiring went trerribly WRONG

Your problem with the distributor is that you are resting on the oil pump shaft thats why it's not seating. You just need to get a large screw driver to turn the oil pump shaft to were you need it to line up.

    Family Cage Bikini Top

Had my upholstery buddy make me a new bikini top for the cage I bent up last fall. He used the same material he uses to make soft tops for Hot Rod, kind of a plastic coated fabric. I still wanted to be able to lay down the windshield so I didn't what it to fasten to the windshield channnel so...

FJ40 Mods to Help Flat Towing?

I also would have to agree with Fast Eddy and team extreme the sites that are listed are both tring to sell a product. I have looked into this and have never found anthing on flat towing a vehicle that says you need "trailer" brakes. I not saying that you shouldn't have them just that I have...

FJ40 Mods to Help Flat Towing?

I just thought I'd put in my two cents I flat tow mine everywhere behind my motor home and Chevy pickup, the cruiser probably has as more tow miles than driving miles, and without any problems going even going 70 to 75 across Nevada to Moab, I have done a couple of 600 mile trips flat...

New 455 Pontiac and Paint on the Cruiser (pic

Update Was out on the Rubicon last weekend and everything works great. Temp was at 175 on the gauge with a 180 thermastat. I figure it was lower than the t-stat because the prode is in the head and it must warm up a little before it makes it to the t-stat, but even the 350 ran 180 on the...

Ken Sorry the Tri Power carbs and manifold were gone a while back. They were just to expensive to justify and were never that easy to set up for the street much less try and run off road. Coolerman I'm running a TJ rear set but I can't see why you couldn't run jump seats with the...

Talking about gas It actually doesn't do any worse than the 350 did since I found out my vacumn advance wasn't working on the 350's distibutor but I would like to make an ax tank or find an old conifer tank and modify it to get me another 10 to 15 gallons on board, I don't like how far they...

Bennet I ran out of time this spring with the paint work to get the rear axle moved back. Thats why its not centered in the TJ flare. I have a set of 55 springs and I plan on installing them some time this summer but its time to wheel now and I still have a bunch of little things to do to...

    Pontiac V8 engine swap?

Once you get a BOP belhousing then you will be able to bolt up a "gm" tranny like a SM420 or 465, you may even be able to use an nv4500, I'm not sure if the GM trannys changed bolt paterns in the later years. Pontiac made a 326, 350, 389, 400, 421, 428, and 455, no 426, after 1960 they...

    Pontiac V8 engine swap?

Pontiac engines make great offroad torque and is a fairly easy swap. I have run a Pontiac 350 for years and next week I'm swaping the 350 for a balanced 455 that I just finished building last week. I have run the 350 along side several 350 SB Chevy Cruisers and none of them have been able...

I'm also not an expert but I have shot a little paint, Your tip should like its just right for a clear. If its cold and acting like the tips to small you might try and use a small amout of thinner. You might just not be putting it on wet enough, there is a fine line between sagging and dry...
