Longtime lurker here.... I have seen this rig in person at local cars and coffee events and it does look fantastic in person. From what I understand, the 200 was in TX at some point and some paint was redone due to fading only on the hood. Once the LC was sold, the new owner had the radiator...
Thanks for the post. I actually gave up on trying to find another cruiser. I just couldn't justify the price and mileage these rigs are going for now. Wish I'd never sold my last two when they were still "cheap." I ended up going for a 2006 Full size Montero w/43k miles. Blasphemy here, I know.
I saw that too when I was looking and called them a bout it. It definitely raised some red flags. I don't think most rich dudes would go to the expense to ship their cruiser to Africa, when they can get local ones for the same price of the shipping.
The truth is, in my search for a cruiser...

Let's...
This is probably going to get blasted here, but the 03-06 BitsOSushi Montero would be my second choice. The drive train is a beast and they are often viewed as the only competition with regards to off roading in the rest of the world. I've read they are going to "reintroduce" the Pajero/Shogun...
The '99 was a no go. The AHC made me nervous though everything else seemed right. Think I've decided to stay away from the LC and stick with the LC. The LX has a little too much refinement for what I'm looking for. I also like the idea of putting my own suspension in rather than the AHC...
Driving a '99 LX with 150k miles tomorrow. Price is solid as well as maintenance history. Hoping this is the one as I bet you are as tired of this thread as I am.
